Rosa Parks And History

Everybody knows the story of Rosa Parks' refusal to give up her seat on the bus in Alabama, sparking the civil rights movement. But Thomas Sowell tells us why there was racially segregated seating on buses in the first place, and he says it's not why you think.

For those of you who think that government was the solution you might be interested to find out that it was government who created the problem in the first place.

Anti-war Hero George Galloway On The Take From Saddam.

Who is George Galloway? He is a member of the British Parlaiment who voted against the war and was a heavy critic of the Bush Administration and Tony Blair on Iraq. He has been an influential member of the anti-war movement as well.

He has been accused of being on Saddam Hussein's Oil-For-Food payroll. He testified awhile ago in front of Congress with great fanfare that he did not take money from Saddam. Well it looks like George Galloway may have not told the truth.

Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman and his Senate committee have issued a report that says they have evidence Galloway did indeed receive Oil-For-Food payments totaling $600,000 from the Iraqi government. The documents will be forwarded to American and British authorities, who will decide whether to charge Galloway with perjury, making false statements and obstructing an investigation.

So what evidence have they found? Bank statements showing deposits to Galloway, along with information from interveiws with former Iraqi regime officials like Tariq Aziz and others.

Looks like we are starting to find out the real reason George Galloway was against the war. I wonder who else was on the oil for food take?

Miers Withdraws Supreme Court Nomination

After harsh criticism from the conservative base of the Republican Party Harriet Miers has withdrew her nomination to the Supreme Court. Perhaps President Bush will now pick someone like Janice Rogers Brown or Samuel Alito. Either one would be a good choice they are both a liberal's nightmare, a strict constitutional constructionists.

President Of Iran: Israel Should Be "Wiped Off The Map"

The president of Iran said yesterday that Israel should be "wiped off the map" and he warned other Arab countries against developing ties with the country, saying "Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury."

You could easily replace "Israel" with "America." Iran has stated their goal is the destruction of the United States and Israel. Why on Earth we are allowing a country that vows to kill us all develop nuclear weapons!

Why do we sit back and let the UN and Europe try to unsuccessfully negotiate with them. Will the UN or Europe take any real action against Iran? I doubt it.

Myths About Gun Control

Excellent column from John Stossel. Did you know that the Brady Bill has done nothing to reduce violent crime? This one will make your liberal friends' heads spin.

Oh Those Generous Senators....

Oh those generous Senators....the U.S. Senate has decided to give up their annual pay raise. Now how about cutting taxes, slashing spending and balancing the budget? Maybe I am asking and expecting to much.

Rosa Parks Dies At 92

Rosa Parks passed away yesterday at the age of 92. The majority of of us today will never even begin to understand the courage this lady showed 50 years ago when she refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. We should spend a lot more time honoring people like Rosa Parks rather then hanging on every word of racial opportunists like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Your Tax Dollars Pays For Lap Dances And Booze For Katrina Victims.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina FEMA gave evacuees each a $2,000 debit card, which could be used to get cash, to assist in getting back on their feet. So just what exactly is mine and your tax dollars being spent on? Is it being spent on things like food, clothing, groceries, and shelter? Probably, but there's a little something more on the shopping list.

The Boston Herald did a little investigating, and discovered just where some of our hard-earned tax dollars are going. Ready for this? I hope you got that rubber brick handy again.

Here's the list:

--Evacuees staying at Otis Air Force Base were spotted drinking in public at a local strip mall.

--Those poor victims of Hurricane Katrina were also reported frequenting a strip club, where it was reported some of them are pretty good tippers. One stripper says they were tipping $5 a pop. Large groups were said to be coming in for lap dances.

--Some evacuees were observed streaming in and out of liquor stores, drinking out of their brown-bagged containers.

Well isn't that just grand! The next time you get paid, look down at your paycheck stub and know that you're furnishing Katrina victims with their very own 40 ounce refreshments and some lap dances. Aren't you glad you could be so helpful?

So how much money are we talking about? FEMA has doled out $1.5 billion in cash to 607,000 Katrina victims. There are no restrictions on how the money can be spent, so bottom's up! Have a party!

The fact is, to someone who was sitting around doing nothing in the 9th Ward down in New Orleans before Katrina, that hurricane has been quite lucrative. They've gotten cash, booze and free trips out of it. Isn't it great to be a low life in America?

Make sure you keep working so you can pay those taxes though. Millions on federal aid are counting on it. Such a generous society.

Condi For President in 2008? She says no, but does she mean it.

Condi Rice said on 'Meet The Press' that she wasn't going to run for president and had no interest in elected office. Dick Morris says her no doesn't mean no.

Just When You Thought She Was Finally Gone.

We haven't heard much these days from the Cindy Sheehan. But don't worry...she's promising to return to the Crawford Ranch for Thanksgiving.

Well, that should really spice up thanksgiving dinner.

Perhaps she will demand George invite her in for some Turkey fixings and talk about the war.

Oh and here is some more proof that Cindy Sheehan has lost her mind. The she is comparing Hillery Clinton to....get this...Rush Limbaugh! That's gotta be a first.

Media Refuses To Call The Enemy Islamic Terrorists

Mark Steyn calls out the media for using words like "insurgents" and "militants" to describe the enemy in the war on terror who are Islamic terrorists by the way.

Excellent column. You don't want to miss this one.

Chris Wallace: Media Bias 'Astonishing'

"Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace said last week that since leaving the mainstream networks behind to join Fox he's noticed an "astonishing" amount of biased reporting on the part of his former colleagues.

Well, I am glad to see someone else other than Benard Goldberg has noticed.

No Wonder Bill Wants Her To Run.

I wonder if this headline in the New York Observer caught Bill Clinton's eye. "Hillary’s Chest Gets BiggerAs ’08 Gets Closer"

Staged Events, Fake Photo Ops, and the Fabricated News Product.

President Bush held a teleconference with troops serving in Tikrit, Iraq on Friday. It was suppose to be a simple standard presidential photo op. Photo ops have been going on in presidential administrations since the invention of the idiot box (television). Just like most television photo ops and similar events there were some advanced preparations that took place to make sure everything ran smoothly. Such things like familiarizing the soldiers with the camera, going over breathing techniques, and rehearsing the teleconference so that everyone is comfortable and a little more relaxed with what is going on when they go live.

The mainstream media witnessed all of this advanced preparation and had another mediagasm spinning the story out of control. These soldiers were coached, it was all staged! AP and every major media outlet in the country ran with the headline “Bush Teleconference With Soldiers Staged.”

Of course this was followed by the television network news media outlets covering the story.

Brian Williams of NBC: The satellite picture from Iraq was being beamed back to television newsrooms here in the US. It showed a full-blown rehearsal of the president's questions along with the soldiers' answers and coaching from the administration. Today's encounter was billed as spontaneous.

NBC News Correspondent Andrea Mitchell: The troops were coached on how to answer the commander-in-chief!

ABC News Correspondent Terry Moran: The fact that this was so carefully choreographed, shows just how urgently the White House, wants a PR success at home for this embattled president.

Katie Couric of NBC’s Today Show: Is the Bush administration using staged events to sell the war in Iraq?

Bob Schieffer of CBS: After satellite cameras caught administration aides rehearsing the soldiers beforehand...

Diane Sawyer of ABC’s Good Morning America: The new embarrassment: the White House scrambling after a photo-opportunity with troops in Iraq didn't go quite as planned.

CBS News Correspondent Lara Logan: His message was overshadowed by questions about how much staging went into the event.

ABC’s Good Morning America correspondent Claire Shipman: A lot of other problems are giving the White House a major case of the nerves, including yesterday's slip-up: staging a photo-op with US troops and letting our cameras see it all!

But the only advice or “coaching” that officials were shown as giving in this “full blown rehearsal” that allowed the medias cameras “to see it all” was a suggestion to one solider to "take a little breath" before speaking to the president so he would actually be speaking to him. It was also stated that some of the soldiers practiced their comments so as to appear as articulate as possible. But there was never any indication, or even allegation, that the soldiers were coached as to the substance of their comments or in any way were they instructed in what to say.

If you ever needed proof to make your case that the media is overwhelmingly liberal and Democrat this is it. This is by far dishonest reporting and outright political bias. It is nothing more than a fabricated news product.

Perhaps the media should have taken a long hard look at what they have done and currently do before casting the first stone.

Shortly before airing the “Bush Teleconference With Soldiers Staged” story the Today Show aired a report with Michelle Kosinski from a flooded New Jersey Street. It was so bad that she was reporting from a canoe on a flooded street. But just as the segment began to air 2 men waded in front of the canoe in ankle deep water! It was a staged event and a fabricated news product

Let’s not forget about the time a soldier actually was coached at a press conference in Iraq. Specialist Thomas Wilson was hand picked, coached by a member of the media on how to present a question to Donald Rumsfield about the lack of armored humvees. The question was written by Edward Lee Pitts of the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Pitts also made sure that Specialist Wilson was picked to ask the question. Then the media takes a one line sound bite from Rumsfields full answer and runs with it. It was a staged event and a fabricated news product.

Since we are on the topic of staged events and staged photo ops let’s go back in time to the Clinton years.

In June of 1994, President Bill Clinton was attending the 50th anniversary of D-day. President Clinton is walking on the Normandy Beach when he comes across some stones. With the media cameras rolling he makes a cross out of the stones on the beach and looks like he is about to cry. But where did the stones come from? There are no stones

anywhere on this beach, it is all sand. Where they placed there in advanced? Of course they were it was a staged event and fabricated news product.

In the summer of 1999, while on the campaign trail, Al Gore went on a canoe trip on the Connecticut River. The media was placed in a prime location and Al Gore was coached on what to do. There was a drought in the New England area that summer that was so bad that New Hampshire residents were forbidden from watering their lawns or washing their cars. Of course that didn’t stop Al Gore from having more than half a billion gallons of water released from a dam in order to accommodate his environmental photo-op.

John Kassel of the Vermont Division of National Resources was quoted as saying, “They won’t release the water for the fish when we ask them to, but somehow they find themselves able to release it for a politician,” Kassel groused. “The only reason they did this was to make sure the vice president’s canoe didn’t get stuck.”

Kassel went on to explain: The drought that had been plaguing New England all summer had slowed the Connecticut River to a trickle. Gore’s advance team and the local environmentalists who organized the photo-op had fretted that there wouldn’t be enough water to float the vice presidential canoe. So Pacific Gas & Electric was instructed to open the floodgates of its dam upriver at dawn that morning. By the time Gore got into his canoe, the river was plenty deep enough for the trip downstream. You guessed it, another staged event and fabricated news product.

Here is another one. In February of 2004 John Kerry was coached by a CBS News producer. He was asked an economical question which he gave a 3 minute response that left the media with no sound bite that they could use. So, they asked him to try it again. The media ran with take 2.

Then there was Dan Rather who insists to this day that those forged documents were real.

This is nothing new. The news media has been doing this for years. They fabricated Vietnam to make it look like we were loosing the war when we were actually winning. It is the same thing today.

The whole anti-war rally was nothing but a fabricated event. If you look closely at what went down. We are supposed to compare New Orleans to Iraq. Both are portrayed as Bush failures and people dieing for no reason. New Orleans and Iraq have even been reported the same way.

We have found WMDs in Iraq the media ignores it. Instead they fuel the Bush lied rhetoric. We get nothing but bad news from Iraq. New Orleans the same way. We now find that just like the Gitmo prisoner abuse story the conditions in New Orleans were not as bad as reported. They were both fabricated news with the goal to fuel anti-war and anti-bush feelings.

Then they fabricate the whole anti-war movement by not telling the American people who is actually behind it. A group called ANSWER International who works with the Worker's World Party who are communists.

The best way to look at the news is not to look at it as news but rather look at it as a product that represents the viewpoints of the seller. The seller has people who put the product together. They have people who market it to you in hopes of success. They measure their success by seeing how many people they can convince into believing their point of view.

So the next time you turn on a news channel or pick up a newspaper remember that you're watching or reading a product. It is up to you to research the facts and figure out what is true or false.

US Seizes 10 page Al Qaeda Letter. Some Al Qaeda Strategies on Iraq Revealed.

The United States has released to the media a seized letter from Osama Bin Laden's top deputy to the Islamic thug running the terrorist operation in Iraq, Abu Musab Zarqawi. The 6,300 word letter is quite clear about the terrorist strategy in Iraq and the war on terror. Here are just a few things in the letter:

-Al-Zawahri calls for and predicts that the United States will cut and run from Iraq. He also writes that the expelling of Americans from Iraq is the first stage of several incremental goals of the jhad in Iraq.

There are also several references to their Muslim brothers being arrested and tortured through out the letter.

Perhaps this is where the Democrats and the antiwar crowd have been getting their talking points from.

Al Zawahri also writes about worries that videos showing Zarqawi beheading hostages might cause Al-Qaeda to lose the hearts and minds of Muslims. Specifically, he says "I say to you: that we are in a battle, and that more than half of this battle is taking place in the battlefield of the media."

Battlefield of the media!!! The terrorists know exactly what is going on. They know they don't have to win the war on the battlefield when they have an American and International media that will spread their messages of death and hate through propaganda and then repeated by the American haters around the world.

Al Qaeda understands that the media is their best weapon. after all it is a media that stopped showing images of 9-11 shortly after the attacks. Said it was too graphic for children but had no problem showing coffins comming back from the war trying to sway public opinion against the war. It is the media that stopped reporting and showing beheading and other atrocities committed by terrorist while providing around the clock coverage of prison abuse. When was the last time you saw a story about Nick Berg? They are still running stories about Abu Ghraib.

The United States continues to win the war in Iraq, the media continues to portray it as a quagmire, and Al Qaeda knows it.

At least now we know whose agenda is served by such reporting.

But what I find more interesting in this story is that these Islamic terrorists wants us to cut and run from Iraq. Who else wants us to cut in run? Democrats.

Just another case of Al Qaeda for Democrats.

Swings And Teeter-Totters Banned From School Playgrounds, ruled to dangerous.

Broward County and Miami Dade in Florida have banned running, swings, teeter-totters and other things from the playground. They have moving parts and are to dangerous.

My god, how did we ever survive as kids running around on the playground, playing on swings and teeter-totters. Who knew we were in so much danger.

So, what is it that is really behind all of this? Lawsuits. Broward County paid out over 500,000 to settle claims for playground accidents.

Let us all give a big thanks to the trial lawyers of America for this.

Your Tax Dollars At Work.

Cruise ship housing for refugees from Katrina is costing tax payers more for 6 months than it would have cost to buy them a home. FEMA is paying $120,000 for 6 months for a family of four.

And we need a tax increase.... Riiight..

Don't you just love how your tax dollars are spent?

Tavern Sign Reads "For Service, Speak English" Ruled Discrimatory In Ohio

The Ohio Civil Rights Commission has ruled that a sign in a private business that says "For Service, Speak English" is discriminatory and must be removed.

I wonder how long it will be before they will have to remove the English speaking only bartender? I mean if the bartender can't understand the customer how can the bartender serve them? If the bartender doesn't serve them then that is probably discimatory too... under the logic of the Ohio civil Rights commission anyway.

This reminds me of a situation I witnessed last weekend at a gas station here in Fayetteville NC. I stopped in to get something to drink and was waiting in a rather long line to pay for it. Well, this non-English speaking Mexican was also in line trying to buy a case of Budweiser and a phone card.

The cashier tells him that she can't sell him the phone card because the machine that activates the phone cards isn't working. Of course the customer does not understand any of this and continues to try and give her the phone card. This continues over and over again. At one point the cashier asks if anyone in here speaks Spanish? Of course no one does.

The Mexican is rather confused but finally gives up on the phone card. The cashier rings up the Budweiser and then our non-English speaking Mexican friend tries to pay with the smallest bill he has, a hundred dollar bill. The cashier tries to explain to him that she can not take anything over a 20 dollar. Of course the Mexican doesn't understand any of this. He finally leaves the gas station confused and empty handed.

So, if we use the logic of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission would this be discrimination?

College Football Game Of The Week: #1USC vs #9Notre Dame.

Just how big of a game is it? Well, if you want tickets to the sold out game you will have to pay top dollar. You can find a few pair on e-bay for about $1500 dollars. Its a college football fans dream game is probably the best way to describe it and if your a Notre Dame fan, like myself it is bigger than that.

A USC team that looks unbeatable riding a mile long winning streak travels into legendary Notre Dame Stadium to face a rising Fighting Irish team trying to add another piece of greatness to their prestigious history.

Notre Dame Stadium is no stranger to big games, big moments, and legends being made. This is the kind of game that brings out the Notre Dame in Notre Dame.

17 years ago this Saturday the Fighting Irish lead by Lou Holtz upset #1 Miami 31-30. They did it again in 1993 beating #1 Florida State in South bend 31-24. This is the biggest Notre Dame game since then.

The one moment that may have the most parallels to this game happened in 1973. A USC team rolled into South Bend, Indiana with a 23 game winning streak and was upset 23-14 by the Irish who went on to win the national title.

This one is going to be an instant classic folks. The Fighting Irish was not even ranked in the pre-season polls. They upset Pitt, then Michigan at the Big House and now sit at #9 in the country.

Knute Rockne, Ara Parseghian, Lou Holtz all had their crowning moments in Notre Dame history. Charlie Weiss will have his this Saturday when the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame upsets the #1 USC Trojans 31-28.

Go Irish

Oh my God! She owned a gun! A .45-caliber revolver! Oh, the humanity!

The Associated Press is reporting (gasp!) that Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers owned a GUN! A .45-caliber revolver! OMG! Can you imagine a gun toting Supreme Court Justice!

Why is this news? There is no story here. It is not illegal to own a gun in Texas. There was no crime committed here. So where is the story? Why is this news?

It is a story because in the eyes of the media and the left it is a crime to own a firearm. They believe that anyone who would own a firearm is uncivilized and a threat to society.

So stop the presses!!! I got a huge story, She owned a gun!

Just for the record I am the owner of 4 rifles and 1 handgun. I wonder what they would say about that.

It's your money, don't let them take it without a fight

A great column from Joseph Bast...who says 40% that's nearly half of all income is sent to the government to spend.

He points out that according to data from the Internal Revenue Service, the top 1 percent of income earners pay nearly 35 percent of the income tax burden; the top 10 percent pay 65 percent; and the top 25 percent pay nearly 83 percent. The bottom 50 percent of income earners, on the other hand, pay barely 4 percent of income taxes.

He also reminds us that our Founding Fathers fought a war for independence over taxes that are much lower than what we pay now.

Tony Danza vs. Tom Cruise...Now that would be a celebrity death match I would watch.

TV talk show host Tony Danza recently let his feelings be known about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' stork announcement.

The Hollywood couple, who became engaged in June after two months of dating, announced they're expecting their first child together.

Danza took Cruise to task for giving other people like Brooke Shields advice while not making the best decisions for the Cruise household.

"I'm a little upset about this. Here's a guy out there lecturing people about drugs, but out of wedlock births don't seem to bother him. He's never (appearing on) my show, so it doesn't matter," Danza said.

The Left Coast Report relays Danza's final zinger: "I'm happy for them, but we're going to send them to Maury Povich's show for a DNA test."

Tom Cruise has not taken kindly to personal attacks like this in the past. So we await his response.

Get The UN Out Of The US And Get The US Out Of The UN. Are You Ready For The UN Take Over?

The United Nations has had one goal ever since it was created and that is for 1 universal world government.

Here is a story from the Guardian unlimited, a British News Service, about the control of the internet. Your internet, as you know it, is in danger. There is a motion in place to turn over the operational control of the internet over to the United Nations.

Now, I know some of you out there are thinking, so what? Who cares? Well, lets consider where this is heading for a moment. There is a document at the UN that was written in 1948. It is called the United Nations Universal declaration of Human Rights. Bill Clinton called it the greatest document ever written by man in support of human rights and freedom. This document is suppose to be an international blue print for human rights around the world. This document states that it represents "a common standard of achievement for all peoples and Nations."

So, Does it protect freedom of speech? Freedom of the press? You could say that. Article 19 says that everyone has a right to freedom of opinion and expression. Interestingly it also gives the right to rest and leisure and a right to standard living. Notice it says a right to standard living not the right to achieve a standard living.

OK Let's cut right to the chase and go to Article 29 paragraph 3. "These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations."

Read it again if you must, this part is crucial. This one clause erases your right to speak out or take action that may interfere with what the UN is trying to do.

Now, lets get back to the internet. If the UN gains control of the internet that means the internet will fall into the jurisdiction of this document. This would give the UN the power to censor or ban anyone who posted ant information or opinions that might interfere with the "purposes and principles of the UN.

There is a plot developing right now as I write at the UN to impose a world wide income tax on the wealthy to fund UN operations. if the UN had control of the internet would you or anyone else be able to post an opinion against it?

Does any of this worry you? Are you concerned? You should be. But then again, maybe you are like most Americans and are more concerned about who is playing on Monday Night Football tonight, or Tom Cruise's girlfriend being pregnant. Did you know Madonna's new Album is being bashed by some Rabbi's who doesn't like one of the songs?? Now that is an injustice!!!

Bringing Out The Brooms In San Diego. Cardinals Sweep Padres In 3 to advance to the NLCS.

I tried to stay up and watch my Cardinals sweep the Padres but I fell asleep on the couch before the game ended which was sometime after 2am eastern time. Any ways they won without me 7-4 to sweep the Padres and advance to the NLCS for the second year in a row.

The red hot red birds will face the Houston Astros in the NLCS.

My prediction: Cards win the series in 6 games. Go Red Birds!!!

President Discusses War on Terror at National Endowment for Democracy

President Bush discussed the War On Terror yesterday from the National endowment for Democracy. Here is a full text and video of the speech. If you missed this speech you need to watch it. It truly was one of his better moments.

President Bush reminded us why we were at war. He also linked Islamic Radicalism to the ideology of communism. He is right, this is the new communism. They are similar. Both want world dominance and a totalitarian state.

There were 2 moments in this speech that I really liked. Here they are.

Some have also argued that extremism has been strengthened by the actions of our coalition in Iraq, claiming that our presence in that country has somehow caused or triggered the rage of radicals. I would remind them that we were not in Iraq on September the 11th, 2001 -- and al Qaeda attacked us anyway. The hatred of the radicals existed before Iraq was an issue, and it will exist after Iraq is no longer an excuse. The government of Russia did not support Operation Iraqi Freedom, and yet the militants killed more than 180 Russian schoolchildren in Beslan.

Over the years these extremists have used a litany of excuses for violence -- the Israeli presence on the West Bank, or the U.S. military presence in Saudi Arabia, or the defeat of the Taliban, or the Crusades of a thousand years ago. In fact, we're not facing a set of grievances that can be soothed and addressed. We're facing a radical ideology with inalterable objectives: to enslave whole nations and intimidate the world. No act of ours invited the rage of the killers -- and no concession, bribe, or act of appeasement would change or limit their plans for murder.

On the contrary: They target nations whose behavior they believe they can change through violence. Against such an enemy, there is only one effective response: We will never back down, never give in, and never accept anything less than complete victory. (Applause.)

Bush nailed it. Iraq or no Iraq they are still plotting against us. They have been plotting against us long before Iraq, and long before 9-11.

And then this was the best part of the speech. Especially if you watched the post speech reporting on CNN as I did.

Overall, the United States and our partners have disrupted at least ten serious al Qaeda terrorist plots since September the 11th, including three al Qaeda plots to attack inside the United States. We've stopped at least five more al Qaeda efforts to case targets in the United States, or infiltrate operatives into our country. Because of this steady progress, the enemy is wounded -- but the enemy is still capable of global operations. Our commitment is clear: We will not relent until the organized international terror networks are exposed and broken, and their leaders held to account for their acts of murder.

This was just classic because CNN was having a complete mediagasm over this. "We will have to fact check this...see if this is accurate." They wanted to catch Bush lieing on this so bad... So they send there reporters out and we find out that it is true. There has been 10 terrorist attack plots stopped. They can't believe it. If they did their jobs properly they would already have known that it was true. Of course a more unbelievable story would have been if Bill Clinton had said it and it was true.

Bush Shows Strength, Congress Shows Weakness As The Stab Bush In The Back.

While Bush was detailing the threats posed to the free world by Islamic radicals, 97 members of the U.S. Senate were voting for a bill to place limitations on how American troops can treat these terrorists once they're in custody.

This is insanity. We have Islamic terrorists walking around in civilian clothing with bombs hidden under their coats. They want to kill as many women and children as they can and the US Senate sends them a message that they'll be treated as honored guests once they're captured.

I say screw them, they killed 3000 people on September11, 2001. I say use any means necessary to get information that could save innocent lives.

I would never have dreamed this would happen 4 years after the worse terrorist attack on our soil.

Terrorist Threat To NYC Subways

New York City remains on alert today after a scare yesterday involving a specific threat received from the FBI. The intelligence said that an attack on the New York subway system was possible in the days ahead...and the same information was even used to lead a raid against suspected Al-Qaeda operatives in Iraq.

Anti Gun Nut's Florida Campaign.

Florida has put a new law on the books. Actually it is a old law put back on the books. The law allows people to use deadly force against someone who has broken into their home, and away from home if they are attacked or feel threatened with violence. It provides a person the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force. A similar law is under consideration in Michigan.

Well the anti-gun crowd doesn't like the law. They call it the "shoot first law" which it is not. They want people to believe that gun toting cowboys will be roaming the streets just looking for someone to shoot. So they have a campaign going, warning tourists, by putting up billboards and handing out pamphlets telling them not to argue with the locals.

Don Farmer wrote a column in the Naples Daily News about all this. you have to register to read it. He suggests that the leaflet being handed out to tourists visiting the Sunshine State should read something like this:

Welcome to our relatively safe state.
Enjoy our beaches and bars, our retailers and restaurants.
Get some sun, have some fun and spend a ton.
We're peaceful folks and intend to make sure you are too.
We love our kids and our seniors.
Don't mess with them.
Or anybody else for that matter.
Beware muggers and molesters, rapists, robbers and road ragers, baby snatchers and carjackers --- take your black hearts elsewhere.
We're not all armed in Florida but some of us are and you don't want to find out the hard way.

Now that is my kind of state.

Another Government Seizure Of Private Property! This Time In DC To Build A Baseball Stadium!

Yesterday I told you about the city council government in Riviera Beach, Florida who is about to throw out 6,000 residents...thanks to a new liberal supreme court ruling on eminent domain all in the name of economical development.

Well now it is happening again this time in our nations capitol. It seems the city council wants to build a new baseball stadium for the Washington Nationals.

The District will begin using eminent domain to acquire parcels of land at the site of the Washington Nationals' ballpark by the end of this month, after unsuccessful negotiations with nearly half of the landowners.

City officials said they expect to file court documents to take over at least some of the 21-acre site in the coming weeks and have $97 million set aside to buy the properties and help landowners relocate. The city made offers to all 23 landowners on the site last month but received no response from 10.

"We think there are some that we'll have good-faith negotiations with," said Steve Green, director of development in the office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development. "There are some we haven't heard from at all."

Many property owners on the site said the city's offers are inadequate. Others are suing the city on the grounds that it has no right to use eminent domain to acquire land at the site, despite a Supreme Court ruling affirming the right of municipal governments to take private property for the purpose of economic development.

In April, the city notified property owners on the site that they would be required to move out by Dec. 31.

We have now reached the point where you only own your house as long as the government allows you to own it.

Think The Government Can't Take Private Party? Think Again

This is why you need to pay attention to what your government is doing. Riviera Beach in Florida is about to throw out 6,000 residents...thanks to a new liberal supreme court ruling on eminent domain.

Florida's Rivera Beach is a poor, predominantly black, coastal community with the average income of its residents less than 19,000 a year.

Democrat Mayor, Michael Brown, says "they are in dire needs of jobs" He defends the use of eminent domain by saying the city is "using tools that have been available to governments for years to bring communities like ours out of the economic doldrums and the trauma centers."

Mr. Brown said Riviera Beach is doing what the city of New London, Conn., is trying to do and what the U.S. Supreme Court said is proper in its ruling June 23 in Kelo v. City of New London. That decision upheld the right of government to seize private properties for use by private developers for projects designed to generate jobs and increase the tax base.

Many residents are prepared to fight for their homes. Resident Jacqui Loriol insists she and her husband will fight the loss of their 80-year-old home in Riviera Beach. "This is a very [racially] mixed area that's also very stable," she said. "But no one seems to care ... Riviera Beach needs economic redevelopment. But there's got to be another way."

You know liberal democrats keep saying they're going to take the country back. They just never told us they're going to do it one house at a time.

Still think supreme court nominations are a bore. Will you think they are a bore when it is you being kicked out of your house for the good of the economic growth of the city you live in?

President Bush had a golden opportunity to guarantee the shift of a liberal supreme court to a more conservative court that would value private property rights. Do you think he did that with his newest nomination? Maybe he did, maybe he didn't the truth is no one knows enough about this lady and only time will tell what kind of philosophy she brings to the bench.

For some reason I keep getting the feeling that President Bush has tried to please the democrats and we conservatives have been stabbed in the back once again.

Casey Sheehan, The Important And Forgotten Sheehan.

While the media continues to turn Cindy Sheehan into an anti-war icon many of us have forgotten about her son Casey. US Army Specialist Casey Sheehan has never got the heroic attention that he and all US Soldiers deserve.

I don't know about you but I have heard all I want about his mother. Take a moment and go to the Big Dog's Weblog and learn about Casey's life, what he believed, and his courage.

500,000 Dollar King Salmon Project And Guess Who Paid For It? This Fish Smells Like Pork!

Yesterday I gave hard criticism toward the republican party as I ranted about pork spending. I know some of you were probably thinking that I hit my head a little to hard but I do not take any of it back. In fact I have a follow up story. I hope you still have your rubber brick.

Take a look at this Boeing 737 above. See the giant Alaskan King Salmon painted on the side of the plane? Did you know that you paid for the paint job? Yeppers, $500,000 of your hard earned money paid for it. Oh but it gets worse. The money came from a $20 million grant of taxpayer's money to a marketing board in Alaska to promote Alaskan fish. Republican Senator Ted Stephens pushed the pork project through. Here comes the best part...you got your rubber brick??? The head of the marketing board that got the money is Ted Stephen's son!!!

Let's say that the average tax burden in this country is $5000 per household (this is just a guess it is probably a low estimate.) that would mean that this fish was paid for by 100 American families. Everyone of these families has needs and dreams. Senator Stephens has essentially told everyone of these families that it was more important for the federal government to seize their $5000 and spend it on painting a fish on the side of an airplane than it was for them to use it for education, job training, to pay off bills, use it for medical expenses, a down payment on a house, or just enjoy a family vacation.

This should be punishable as a crime! Just how long are we going to let these people in congress get away with this kind of thing and how many other similar pork projects do we not know about?

President Bush Says "Trust Me" On Miers, But Should We?

While on the campaign trail President George W. Bush promised us that he would nominate candidates in the image of Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia to the Supreme Court. On Monday President George W. Bush made is second nomination to the Supreme Court by nominating Harriet Miers. President Bush also asked us to "trust him" on his nomination that few had ever heard of. Why should we just blindly "trust him." After all, lets not forget that it was President Ronald Reagan who told us to "trust, but verify."

The problem with the nomination of Harriet Miers is that she has never been a judge and there is no judicial paper trail, it is hard to verify President Bush's choice when there is very little known about the kind of Supreme Court Justice she would be. Beyond the assurances of President Bush (" She will strictly interpret our Constitution and Laws") and Vice President Cheney("I'm confident that she has a conservative judicial philosophy") no one knows what her judicial philosophy is or will be.

So, who is Harriet Miers? What do we know about this mystery woman other than she has been the personal legal council for the Bush Administration and a personal friend of the President for 10 years?

Well, at Olasky's World Magazine Blog, Marvin Olasky, in support of her qualifications reports that Texas Supreme Court Justice Nathan Hecht endorsed his fellow parishoner by saying, "Miers has been a member of Valley View Christian Church in Dallas for 25 years." Where Hecht has been an elder. He also says, "She was on the missions committee for ten years, taught children in Sunday school, made coffee and brought donuts."

Olasky also interviewed Mier's pastor, Ron Key, who was pastor there for 33 years until a few weeks ago. He said, "She helped out with kids, made coffee, furnished donuts, served on mission committee. She worked out her faith in praticical, behind the scenes ways. She doesn't draw attention to herself, she's humble, self effacing."

That is a great story of character perhaps but there is a lot more at stake here than her ability to provide Sunday refreshments. For instance, does she believe in a Constitutional "right to privacy?" Does she believe the Constitution mandates that the Supreme Court re-examine legislative choice under the ridiculous notion of substantive due process?" What about the second amendment? Does she believe that the Constitution guarantees the "right to bear arms?" We have no idea.

Miss Mier has no judicial "paper trail" but her record as White House Counsel throws up a possible red flag of what she could be. Elaine Donnelly, President of the Center for Military Readiness, told World Net Daily, Miss Miers either approved of the Department of Defense's illegal assignments of women in units required to be all male, which continues to go on, or she was oblivious to the legal consequences of those assignments."

Donnelly believes the actions of Miers could lead directly to a future court ruling requiring women to register with selective service.

Meanwhile, during Miers' long affiliation with the American Bar Association, she submitted a 1999 report, which included under the heading International Law and Practice, a recommendation for "the development and establishment of an International Criminal Court."

I'm sorry to say but this looks like it could be more of a deal for democrats than conservative republicans. Especially when Democratic Minority Leader Harry Reid says, "I like Harriet Miers."

It is also true that Harriet Miers was a democrat and even contributed to Al Gore in the 80's. But let's not forget that Ronald Reagan was a democrat long before he became a republican and Zell Miller, well, he is still a democrat but a disgruntled one. The point is people change.

No one knows how Harriet Miers will turn out. What we do know is that when it comes to President Bush's Circuit and District Court nominations he has kept his campaign promises. Even the newly confirmed Chief Justice John Roberts was right on the money. But we knew that because their was a judicial paper trail showing us who they were, not the case with Miss Miers, who has never been a judge.

A lot of people are upset because she has never been a judge. If she had been a judge we might be able to tell more about her judicial philosophy. Maybe, or Maybe not.

Sandra Day O'Connor was a judge and she didn't turn out the way Reagan conservatives thought she would.

The truth of the matter is, just like most nominations, no one knows for sure how Harriet Miers will rule from the bench of the Supreme Court only time will tell.

Could President Bush have picked a better nomination? I think so, but based on his choices in the past to the courts I will "trust him" and support Harriet Miers. If she doesn't meet up to conservatives expectations at least we will know that the Supreme Court will have coffee and donuts on Sunday.

Think We Need A Tax Increase For Katrina Relief? Think Again.

Democrats and some Republicans are telling us that we can not eliminate the death tax and that we may have to raise taxes to cover the cost of Hurricane Katrina and the War. We just can't afford to give a tax break at this time they tell us.

Meanwhile, Congress continues to spend money like beer flowing through a redneck!

Here is a list of a whole lot of tax money, your money, being wasted on pork. Read it and then tell me we need a tax increase. There is enough money here to pay for Katrina twice and still have money left over for the ongoing war!!!! But we need a Tax Increase!

I want you to keep in mind as you read this that this is your money being wasted. This is money that you had to get up out of bed everyday and work your tail off for only to have it confiscated by the federal government and rolled down a rat hill!

Another thing, If you are a Republican reading this, I want you to keep in mind who has been in charge of the congress while all of this is going on. You can not blame this on liberal democrat spending. The Republicans are just as guilty.

The republican party use to be the party of smaller non intrusive government, reduced spending, strong defense, and tax cuts. Other than tax cuts and defense the republican party is letting us down. I do not know about you but I have about had it with these RINOs! (Republicans In Name Only)

Some one get me a rubber brick before I break something!!! You may want to get one as well before continuing on and seeing how your hard earned money is being wasted.

The federal government cannot account for $24.5 billion spent in 2003.

A White House review of just a sample of the federal budget identified $90 billion spent on programs deemed that were either ineffective, marginally adequate, or operating under a flawed purpose or design.

The Congressional Budget Office published a Budget Options book identifying $140 billion in potential spending cuts.

The federal government spends $23 billion annually on special interest pork projects such as grants to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or funds to combat teenage goth culture in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Washington spends tens of billions of dollars on failed and outdated programs such as the Rural Utilities Service, U.S. Geological Survey and Economic Development Association.

The federal government made $20 billion in overpayments in 2001.

The Department of Housing and Urban Developments $3.3 billion in overpayments in 2001 accounted for over 10 percent of the departments total budget.

Over one recent 18-month period, Air Force and Navy personnel used government-funded credit cards to charge at least $102,400 for admission to entertainment events, $48,250 for gambling, $69,300 for cruises, and $73,950 for exotic dance clubs and prostitutes.

Examples of wasteful duplication include: 342 economic development programs; 130 programs serving the disabled; 130 programs serving at-risk youth; 90 early childhood development programs; 75 programs funding international education, cultural, and training exchange activities; and 72 federal programs dedicated to assuring safe water.

The Advanced Technology Program spends $150 million annually subsidizing private businesses, and 40% of this goes to Fortune 500 companies.

The Defense Department wasted $100 million on unused flight tickets, and never bothered to collect refunds even though the tickets were reimbursable.

The Conservation Reserve program pays farmers $2 billion annually to not farm their land.
Washington spends $60 billion annually on corporate welfare, versus $43 billion on homeland security.

The Department of Agriculture spends $12 billion to $30 billion annually on farm subsidies, the vast majority of which go to agribusinesses and farmers averaging $135,000 in annual income.

Massive farm subsidies also go to several members of Congress, and celebrity hobby farmers such as David Rockefeller, Ted Turner, Scottie Pippen, and former Enron CEO Ken Lay.

The Medicare program pays as much as eight times the cost that other federal agencies pay for the same drugs and medical supplies.

Congressional investigators were able to receive $55,000 in federal student loan funding for a fictional college they created to test the Department of Education.

The Army Corps of Engineers has been accused of illegally manipulating data to justify expensive but unnecessary public works projects.

Food stamp overpayments cost $600 million annually.

School lunch program abuse costs $120 million annually.

Veterans program overpayments cost $800 million annually.

Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) overpayments cost $9 billion annually.

Better tracking of student loan recipients would save $1 billion annually.

Preventing states from using accounting tricks to secure additional Medicaid funds would save several billion dollars annually.

Medicare contractors owe the federal government $7 billion.

Ever Wonder Why We Had No Looting Stories From Mississippi, Alabama, or Texas.

This is what I call an effective neighborhood crime watch.

Blogging Will Be Light Today.

Sorry folks, but I had an airborne operation today which means I had to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. It's my job, it is what paratroopers get paid to do.

Anyways, my jump didn't go so well. I landed on the FLS part of the drop zone, which is the runway on the dropzone, well it is hard, real hard. A gust of wind came through while I was parachuting down and slammed me into the FLS I hit my head and knocked myself out.

So, I have been at the hospitol all day, getting things done like cat scans. I am OK. just a mild concussion. My head is still attached to my neck but man does it hurt.

Another Failing Government School System

Nearly 100,000 California high school seniors, roughly 20% of the state's entire senior class, can not pass the graduation exam. They now have until June to pass it, failure to do so means they will not graduate. So what is it that they can not pass? English and Math. Wow, that must be a difficult test, challenging stuff, like above their grade level, right? Nope, the math is at a 8th grade level and the English is 9th or tenth grade levels. Amazing, they are not even being tested with material up to par for their grade level and 1 in 5 are failing.

So, who is at fault here? Is it teachers' inability to teach? Is it parent's lack of involvement in their child's education? In some cases some of these might be a factor, but the real factor, something that you will never here blamed in the media, the government.

The government has created it all if you think about it. Government regulations tell teachers how they can teach. It is government that has created a over bearing tax burden on American families requiring both parents to work without being able to take time off to get involved in their child's education. The biggest problem is the government school system itself who has let these children slide along all the way to the 12th grade without being able to perform 8th grade math because the public school system is more concerned about the student's self esteem than whether or not they are learning anything. We can't fail that student it my give him bad self esteem!

Knowing this it shouldn't surprise you that there is actually a plan in the making to give alternate diplomas and graduation certificates to people who can't pass. We wouldn't want them to think their failures, might hurt their self esteem!

Since these kids are learning that they do not have to work to make it. Why don't we just take them by the hand and get them on public aid so they can spend the rest of their lives just like they did in government schools with everything given to them.

Islamic Terrorists Strike Again Over The Weekend

On Saturday, 3 Islamic suicide bombers on the island of Bali in Indonesia walked into 3 different restaurants at the same time and blew themselves up, killing 26 people and injuring 101, including 6 Americans. You can watch a video of one of the bombings at the link above if you wish.

A Muslim group linked to Al Qaeda has taken responsibility for the attack. It is the same group that killed 202 people in 2002 at a night club in Bali. The groups name Jemaah Islamiyah, Their goal is to establish an Islamic state in Southeast Asia.

Have you heard anyone in the mainstream media refer to these killers as Islamic or Muslim. I haven't... Maybe I missed it, but I haven't heard it. Why will the media not use the term Islamic or Muslim in these stories when that is who the terrorists are. Is it political correctness? Is it because they do not want to bring justification to the link between Muslims and terrorism? What is it?

Islam remains a violent religion, as these bombings show. At its core is a fragmented, fanatical leadership that believes that if you are a non-believer...if you aren't a Muslim then there are one of 3 things that must happen to you. According to the Koran all non-Muslims must either be converted, made to pay a tax, or killed.

Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists have been Muslim.

Oklahoma Terrorist Suicide Bomb Attempt Or Just A Suicide.

Oklahoma University officials have claiming that the death of Joel Hinrichs by suicide bomb was just a case of a "disturbed young man" there are a lot of indications that there is more, much more, to this story.

Like why is this being investigated by a terrorism task force if he is not suspected of being a terrorist?

Why did he have so much bomb-making material in his apartment if he was "just" killing himself?

Did he in fact have jihad material on his computer, as some media reports have claimed?

Does his apparently new beard reflect a recent conversion to Islam?

Why was the apartment complex evacuated that he lived in if no one else was believed to be in danger?

How does President of OU David Boren know so quickly after this about the serious personal problems that this student was having that led to his suicide?

It seems to me that Boren is trying desperately to make this out to be some sort of minor act by a student who just had, well, personal issues. I do not believe for one minute that someone strapped bombs to his chest outside of a stadium full of people, had bomb making materials and Muslim extremist propaganda in his apartment and blew himself up just because of "personal problems".

My instinctive reaction to this is that this guy had every intention of going into that football game and blowing himself up taking out as many people with him. He had a premature explosion before making it inside.

But then again what do I know.
