Contract With America 2
Remember the 'Contract With America?' This was the document that Republicans used in 1994-95 to take control of the House away from the Democrats. It was the revival of conservatism in America. The kind of conservatism from the likes of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan that carried the ideas that smaller government was better government and that big government was never good even if it is our own party’s government. The ideas that the Republican Party has seemed to left behind.
Well it must be election time because Tim Chapman says the contract has been renewed....but after the recent actions from the party are the American people in the mood to sign the contract? I am not buying it.
Don’t get me wrong, there are still some good Republicans out there that are trying to do the right thing like House Rep. Mike Pence (IN) and Jeb Hensarling (TX) and a few others. They should be awarded accordingly. Unfortunately, the majority of the party has jumped ship and the only reason they will climb back on board is because it is an election year.
Let’s face it when it comes to spending and big government there just isn’t much difference between the two parties anymore.
You know, if the Republican Party would have just stayed true to the party platform there wouldn’t have been a need for the contract with America now would there? Just something to think about this election season.

FairTax Issue Continues To Pick Up Momentum.
Almost every day I receive e-mails that someone, somewhere is talking about the fair tax in some editorial, column or broadcast opinion piece in favor of the FairTax. Here's another example from The Roanoke Times. Keep spreading the message about the FairTax and maybe we can make it a campaign issue. Remember folks the only way the FairTax will ever become a reality is if the people demand it from their elected representatives.
Former Iraqi Air force General Says: The US has won the War in Iraq, Saddam moved WMD to Syria, and Gives a Special Thanks to the Families of our Fall
We're starting to hear from more and more former military people in Iraq. They seem to be telling us that Saddam had lots of weapons of mass destruction. He also apparently smuggled them out of the country before the war began.
Well, now we have Iraqi Air force General Georges Sada in an interview given by Larry Elder claim that Saddam moved WMD to Syria. Shocking, I know.
He also says the US has won the war there:
Elder: Are we winning this war of liberation?
Sada: The war is won. Now we are trying to win the peace. . . . The new elections were a great thing . . . and the wonderful, wonderful thing is that the first time we had 88 women elected in the Parliament of Iraq. I'm not sure of the number now, but you just imagine 88 women of 275 seats in the Parliament are women -- in an Islamic Arab country in the Middle East. This is the fruit of the liberation.
He also gives a special thanks to the families of our fallen:
Sada: I want to bow in front of the parents of those who have lost their beloved one, and I want to tell them that I know it is difficult and tough, but it is worth it, and they should be proud of their daughters and sons killed in the war because they have liberated a country, liberated 27 million people, and that country is the country of father Abraham, and Daniel of Babylon, and Jonah of Nineveh.

Islam’s Tolerant Face
As the War on Terror continues on with no end in sight and the continuous ongoing terrorist activities in the Muslim world, it's easy to think that there's not much hope for a single Muslim country to do the right thing. Max Boot says there is still hope in a few Islamic countries, two of which he recently visited.
Illegal Immigration Is An Invasion.
Here's how bad things are along the border with Mexico. If the 24-county region along the border were considered the 51st state, it would be first in federal crime, second in tuberculosis and near the bottom in education and income.
What is the main cause of this? Illegal immigration… A study done by the University of Texas in El Paso says that this is how the rest of America may look in 30 years if the pace of Illegal immigration remains the same.
Folks, I am all for legal immigration it is illegal immigration that I am against. My mother is an immigrant from Mexico but she didn’t swim the river to get here either. She didn’t break the law of our land to get here. Illegal immigration is nothing short of an invasion in my eyes. Oh well, as long as “they do the jobs Americans won't do,” Who cares, right?

The time has come to deal with Iran.
The leader of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has made it clear what his intentions are in the last couple of months. In January told a crowd of "theological students" in Iran that Islam must prepare to rule the world. Ahmandinejad said "We must believe in the fact that Islam is not confined to geographical borders, ethnic groups and nations. It's a universal ideology that leads the world to justice," ”, Ahmadinejad said.
“We don’t shy away from declaring that Islam is ready to rule the world”, he added.
“We must prepare ourselves to rule the world and the only way to do that is to put forth views on the basis of the Expectation of the Return”, Ahmadinejad said, referring to the Shiite Muslim belief that the Mahdi, on his return, will establish justice in a world consumed by chaos and corruption.
Now when you put this Islamo fascist -idiot's thoughts on world domination together with some other things he has said you really begin to understand why he would be so dangerous with nuclear weapons and why we should not and can not allow that to ever happen. Here are some samples of previous recent comments;
"The Holocaust is a myth."
"The United States is the Great Satan."
"Israel and the US must be wiped off the face of the Earth."
"Iran is going to become a nuclear power no matter what the Western world thinks about it."
And now we can add the threat of "harm and pain" to the United States if we try to use the U.N. to impose sanctions.
It seems that the "harm and pain" that Iran is talking about is to use their oil against us by cutting back on production causing the prices to sky rocket.
I have said it before that our dependency on foreign oil is a huge National Security crisis just waiting to happen and that we need to start drilling our own.
Imagine if Iran does cut back production and crude oil goes to 80 or 90 dollars a barrel. Can you imagine the effect that would have on the economy when gas prices are 3-4 dollars a gallon? The economy would tank in a matter of months. More importantly our military can not function without oil. Oil is the bloodline to our country without it we are screwed.
Thank God we still have those emergency oil reserves to keep our military a float. Remember when Kerry and the liberals wanted to tap into them to lower pump prices. That would have been a good idea wouldn't it.
The main troubling question in all of this is how much time do we have before Iran has a nuclear weapon and who can we trust?
Can we trust other countries to negotiate with Iran? What about the Soviet Union who has had a big part at the negotiation table with Iran?
They offered to to produce Irans nuclear fuel for them. But Iran turned down the deal arguing the offer would deny their nation's right to "be in charge of its own fate" on energy matters. Now there is something are government can’t get right. We let OPEC be in charge of our own fate on energy matters.
In January we find out that Iran cut a deal with Russia to buy an advanced weapons system that can destroy incoming missiles and laser-guided bombs. Russia also helped Iran launch a satellite that could give early warning of an air attack against Iranian nuclear facilities.
Why are we trusting the Russians and just whose side are they on anyway.
As far as how much time do we have? Well, the head of the IAEA, the nuclear watchdog at the UN, Muhammad El-Baradei says he agrees with Israel....Iran is only a few months away from creating an atomic bomb.
Keep in mind, ElBaradei is not some wild bomb thrower (so to speak). He is the same diplomat who the Bush administration recently, and unsuccessfully, tried to block from being re-appointed chairman of the IAEA because he was insufficiently assertive and too inclined to understate the danger of nuclear development in Muslim countries.
El Baradei added that "It's difficult to read their intention. We're still going through the program to make sure it's all for peaceful purposes," he told reporters.
However, he warns against anybody actually doing anything about it....fearing Iran would retaliate.
Now that is just a swell plan, isn't it? Iran who is a known enemy of the United States and Israel is well on the way to developing nukes, but we should just sit back and do nothing because this idiot at the UN is afraid they may retaliate. So, what are we suppose to do? Let them proceed until they actually have the nuclear weapons in hand and then try to do something. What a typically useless position from the Nobel peace prize-winning bureaucrat.
It is difficult to read there intentions??? Iran has gone on the record calling for the destruction of Israel and the United States and this Noble Peace Prize winning idiot Baradei at the UN says it is hard to read there intentions.
Maybe, some one needs to break this down for Baradei… Baradei knows this guy Joe, who really hates him. Joe walks up to Baradei and says I am going to kill you. Joe then pulls out a handgun that appears to be unloaded because he has bullets in his other hand. Now Joe will have a loaded hand gun in less than a minute. Then someone comes along and says hold on Baradei, you can’t be to sure of what Joe’s intentions are here, if you try to disarm him he might fight back. What should Baradei do?
Well, if he wants to live to see another day he better kick Joe’s ass before he loads that gun!!! And that is exactly what we should do with Iran.
I am not calling for an all out invasion of Iran at this time. I think a simple air strike to take out these nuclear facilities would do just fine. Take a few stealth bombers, fly in there, and Blow the reactors up!
Oh, how I hear the critics now: We can’t do that, we are bogged down in Iraq. If we bomb Iran they might attack back then we will be at war with them as well…Blah, blah, blah. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Bush is going to kill us all.
Yes, because it will be much easier to deal with this problem once Iran has nukes. Oh and let me let you in on some information. In case you didn’t know it, we are already at war with Iran in Iraq. A large part of the so called “insurgency” is from other Middle Eastern countries including Iran.
Also, for those of you who think the military is cut to thin around the world. I would agree that we may not have the numbers that we like but that can't stop us from doing what has to be done. I ask you to look to the "Greatest Generation" and ask yourself this question. Did they stop the fight when they were stretched thin? No, they stepped up, going on 22-30 month deployments. We were fighting battles all over the world, all over Europe, Japan, the Philippines, and Africa. Read about the battle of the bulge, the battle for the Rhine River, and the fighting in the pacific and you will come to find that we do not even know what it means to be stretched thin.
Do you think we would have won WWII if we were worried about being stretched to thin? They were fighting for the survival of our country and the world back then, just as I believe we are fighting for the survival of our country and the world from a branch of Islamic extremist who have no respect for human life and are determined to acquire world domination through whatever means necessary.
A failure to take action now against Iran means they might have Nukes in a couple of months. A chance I am not willing to take. There is no doubt in my mind that those nuclear weapons will be pointed at 3 places; Israel, Iraq and the United States. Are we going to allow that to happen?
The truth may be that the leftist white flag waving Democrats have so much weakened our will to fight, our will to defend ourselves from these kinds of threats, that we just might do nothing. That decision may very well cost lives, but the Democrats won’t be the ones to take the heat for it. They will place the heat on President Bush for not taking action against Iran.
“We don’t shy away from declaring that Islam is ready to rule the world”, he added.

The Nuclear Sites Targeted in Iran

Institutions that could be bombarded through air attack information comes from Mehran Riazaty: a former Iran analyst for the Central Command of the Coalition Forces in Baghdad.
visit a daily briefing on Iran blog for more information on the Iran situation.
1. Saqhand: The uranium mine which was discovered on 1985 in this city. The extraction from this mine will begins this year. Every year 120,000 tons of uranium rocks will be extracted from this mine (60 to 50 tons of uranium). City of Saghand is located northeast of Yazd province in central Iran desert (Kavir).
2. Ardekan Unclear Fuel Facility: Preparing yellow cake by crushing uranium rocks. Ardakan is the second major city of Yazd province of Iran. Ardakan is 60 kilometers far from Yazd and it has a dry weather.
3. Gchine Nuclear Facility: There is a Uranium mine in Kahin city. There is also facility for crushing uranium rocks. This facility produce 24 ton of yellow cake very year. Gchine is located in the south of Iran, near Bandar Abbas.
4. Isfahan Uranium Conversion Facility Headquarters: In this facility, yellow cake first converted to pure yellow cake, then to Hexafluoride, and after that to oxide-Uranium. Isfahan is located about 340 km south of Tehran. Isfahan is largest city after Tehran and Mashad. Its population in 2000 was 2,040,000.
5. Natanz Uranium Enrichment Facility Headquarters: Sunday Telegraph reported that new building was built in this site which could be used for enriching uranium for military use. Natanz is located between Isfahan and Kashan in central Iran. The facility is reportedly 100 miles north of Esfahan, and is located in old Kashan-Natanz, near a village called Deh-Zireh, itself located about 25 miles southeast of Kashan, and falls under the jurisdiction of the Governor's Office of Kashan.
6. Teheran Uranium Enrichment Facilities: There are also research laboratories and electronic machines in Tehran’s facilities.
7. Bushehr Nuclear Facility: Russian built a light water reactor in Bushehr which begins to work this year. This site could produce plutonium for military use. Bushehr is a major city and one of Iran's chief ports, is located 400 kilometers south of Tehran, in south-eastern Iran on the Persian Gulf.
8. Arak Heavy Water Nuclear Facility: The heavy water research reactor is located in city of Arak. Arak is 150 miles south of Tehran. This reactor could eventually produce plutonium for atomic bomb. The Arak is about 154 miles southwest of Tehran. The Arak Heavy water plant is actually about 32 miles northwest of the city of Arak on the highway leading to Khondab.
9. Anarak Nuclear Facility: In this site Iran is keeping its nuclear wastes.Anarak is the smallest city in Isfahan province. Anarak, a city of about 4000people is located at the edge of the Kavir loot and about 85 Km from the city ofNain.
What Are We Going To Do About Iran, And What If We Listen To The Left?
Well if we are to listen to the left the first thing we would do is pull our troops out of the Middle East and allow Iraq to immediately fall under the control of Al Qaeda and other Islamo-fascist groups. This would prove to Muslims around the world that we do not have the strength or resolve to stand up to Islamic despots, which is how we ended up in this mess in the first place actually. Osama Bin Ladin has commented several times that we don’t have the stomach for war referring to our cut and run policy in Somalia.
Then we would take all of that money we've been spending on trying to liberate Iraq and spend it on socialistic welfare programs here at home. I mean we got Katrina victims who need help, how dare us expect them to help themselves at all. Then we should work to strip any executive powers from the President to gather information about terrorists because it might jeopardize civil rights. And to show Iran and other enemies that we have changed and can co exist we will engage in a year of self-loathing over the treatment of Islamic prisoners and detainees and demand our military undertake sensitivity training programs.
That would show them. Why I bet Ahmadinejad would just forget about his dream of world domination if we could just understand him better and his side of the story.
Oh how I hope the left is never in charge of National Security.

Crash Wins Oscar For Best Picture!
Out of the 5 movies that were nominated for best picture Crash is the only one I have watched. In fact I just watched it last weekend and it wins the Oscar for best movie the next day.As I said, this movie was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time and if you have not watched it you should. Of course not everyone feels that the movie was that great.
Days before the Academy Awards a family oriented group spoke out against Crash because the foul language used in the movie. The F-word was heard in Crash more than any other nominated picture, and more than most other 2005 releases.
No... really!!! Your kidding me? A genuine movie about the dark and bright sides of an inner city like L.A. has the F word in it!!! What are the characters suppose to say, "Good golly. Did you see that?" Doesn't quite capture the culture does it?
It also seems that some on the left did not like the movie either. Some have even called it the worst movie of the year. Why would that be? Maybe because the movie didn't show racism the way they liked it. You see to the left the only kind of legitimate racism comes from white people, and that is just not the case in this movie.
Which is why I said after watching the movie that the theme was not racism, it was bigotry. Some people don't seem to know the difference between the two so I will explain it.
Racism is the belief of and acting out on that belief to become superior over another race through the practice of discrimination that upholds the political or economic domination of one race over another.
Bigotry is the behavior, attitudes, or prejudiced beliefs people hold blindly and intolerantly to another group of people from pre conceived notions.
So, without giving away anything in the movie let me just say, each character in this film has enough prejudice or hate in his/her repertoire of life to demonstrate we had better not be too quick to judge people without exploring what we might find in us to be similar to the characters' flaws.
Let me also say that if I had children in there teens I would show them this movie. There's a message in this movie for every American, and the Oscar is richly deserved.
We Should Be Making Movies About Michael Burghardt!!!

The Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant in the picture is Michael Burghard, part of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team that is supporting 2nd Brigade 28th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He is on his third tour in Iraq and has already been awarded the Bronze Star for disabling 64 IEDs and destroying 1,548 pieces of ordnance during his second tour.
On September 19, 2005 he was called upon again to disable a IED. He arrived at the scene after a bomb had killed four US soldiers. He chose not to wear the bulky bomb protection suit. "You can't react to any sniper fire and you get tunnel-vision," he explains. So, protected by just a helmet and standard-issue flak jacket, he began what bomb disposal officers term "the longest walk", stepping gingerly into a 5ft deep and 8ft wide crater. The earth shifted slightly and he saw a Senao base station with a wire leading from it. He cut the wire and used his 7in knife to probe the ground. "I found a piece of red detonating cord between my legs," he says. "That's when I knew I was screwed."
He then yelled to everyone telling them to stay back as an insurgent who was probably watching from binoculars detonated the bomb that was below Mike's feet.
"A chill went up the back of my neck and then the bomb exploded," he recalls. "As I was in the air I remember thinking, 'I don't believe they got me.' I was just ticked off they were able to do it. Then I was lying on the road, not able to feel anything from the waist down."
His fellow Marines pulled him out of the hole and began to cut away his pants. I felt a real sharp pain and blood trickling down. Then I wiggled my toes and I thought, 'Good, I'm in business.' As a stretcher was brought over, adrenaline and anger kicked in. "I decided to walk to the helicopter. I wasn't going to let my team-mates see me being carried away on a stretcher." He stood and gave the insurgents who had blown him up a one-fingered salute. "I flipped them one. It was like, 'OK, I lost that round but I'll be back next week'."
Sgt Burghardt's injuries — burns and wounds to his legs and buttocks — kept him off duty for nearly a month and could have earned him a ticket home. Instead he stayed in Ramadi to engage in the battle against terrorists who are determined to destroy our way of life and dominate the world.
What a great story... In fact hollywood should be making movies about brave men like this for our boys and young men to look up too. Of course they won't, they couldn't even give a thank you to the troops at the Academy Awards.

In this column he answeres the question: Why do students who attend government schools perform so poorly academically? Stossel says you need look no further than the teachers unions. I could not agree more.
There is no organization out there that fights harder to keep competition out of the public school system.

More Proof GOP IS Doing More Than NAACP For Blacks.
Recently I commented on some comments that Julian Bond made at a speech here in Fayetteville. One of the comments he made in the speech was that “The Bush administration likes to use former Secretary of State Colin Powell and current Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as kinds of human shields against any criticism of their record on civil rights. After all, they're proud of saying their administration is more diverse than any in history."
Yes, it is the most diverse administration in history. I would just like to thank Julian Bond for pointing out that the Bush Administration has done more for the advancement of colored people than the NAACP.
Well, now it seems that the Republican Party is on the verge of some pretty significant electoral victories that would put black politicians in key positions throughout the country. Just another example that the GOP is doing more for the advancement of colored people than the NAACP. George Will runs down the races to watch.

Is Driving The Speed Limit Sometimes Not Safe???
If you have ever driven through Atlanta then you know that no one drives the speed limit on the Interstate. In everyone drives on the average 15 over the speed limit. At least that is how it was the last time I drove through Atlanta. So what would happen if everyone was forced to slow down and drive the speed limit? Would it be safer??? or would it bunch up traffic like a restrictor plate NASCAR race making it more dangerous.
Well some students at Georgia State University decided to see how people will react on an Atlanta freeway if everyone is forced to drive the speed limit? Watch the video. They're lucky they didn't get shot.

Prayer Request...

Please take a moment to pray for this man. He wears shoes few of us are called to wear. He is brutally criticized at every turn. Although he is prayerfully doing his best, few recognize this and even fewer have thanked him. Few know the extent of the burden he bears; and this is as it should be. He needs to know far more than anyone else in the world and must make decisions based on information the rest of us should NOT know. Thank God that he is a praying man, and pray that God continues to give him the guidance he needs to do his job effectively. Pray that he knows the sympathy and support that reasonable people send to him and that he feels the comfort of our prayers."Blessed are you when men shall revile you, and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you, for my sake."God Bless You, Mr. President.
Tough Choice: NASCAR or the Homeless.
The City of Charlotte NC is in a battle with Daytona Beach, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia to land the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It looks like Charlotte is probably going to win that battle will find out Monday. There is nothing that would make me happier than to have the NASCAR Hall of fame within weekend traveling distance of my house, but should the tax payers of North Carolina have to pay for it? Charlotte and North Carolina legislators have proposed a sweat deal of about $122 out of the total $137 million in public money, in other words tax payer money, and other benefits to land the deal. The other 15 million will come from donations from private corporations.
So, what is NASCAR contributing to the deal? Not one red cent!!! The city of Charlotte will pay for almost all of the construction costs of the Hall which is already on city owned land. Charlotte will also foot the bill to operate the Hall of Fame.
NASCAR however, will get payments for the use of its names and merchandise sales. Now that is a deal you just can’t loose at if you are NASCAR.
Charlotte and North Carolina Officials have said that a lot of the money will come from a 2% increase in hotel taxes in Mecklenburg County and the rest will come from the State.
There seems to be a lot of questions left unanswered here though. Like, how much is it going to cost to operate the Hall of Fame? Does the city of Charlotte expect to subsidize, break even, or profit from the hall deal? What will NASCAR be responsible to pay for if anything at all? What happens if it goes bust, will the city and state tax payers be stuck with the bill.
It seems to me the only guaranteed winner in all of this is NASCAR. Why not let NASCAR pay there own way.
It should not be a proper function of government to take money by force from the people who earned it and to then spend that money on a hall of fame. If NASCAR wants to bring their attraction to Charlotte, fine. They are definitely welcomed to do so with open arms especially by me. I am a huge NASCAR fan and as I said earlier nothing would make me happier than to have the NASCAR Hall of Fame within weekend driving distance of my house. But when the government takes tax payer money to build it and operate it they are basically telling you the tax payers it is more important for the government to take that money and spend it on a hall of fame for race car drivers than it would be to allow the person who earned that money to keep it and spend it on such things as feeding, clothing and educating your children, saving for a home, paying off a car, or covering some medical bills.
Now ... having said all of that, let's consider the choices faced by North Carolina and Charlotte officials given the fact that, one way or another, they are going to take this money from those who earned it and spend it on something. A lot of people that I have heard oppose this deal do not oppose it for the same reasons as I do. I have heard many people say that money could be spent on helping the poor or the homeless not a rich organization like NASCAR. The decision in this case seems to be whether to spend it on attracting the NASCAR project, or spending it on some other socialistic welfare handout program.
Let's see. Do we want to spend that money on a project that could attract tens of thousands of tourists to the Charlotte area; a project that would over time would very likely generate millions upon millions of revenue for Charlotte businesses and many millions more in tax revenues for government, or should we spend it on the homeless? Should we spend that money on a project that will generate many jobs, or spend that money on people who have chosen, that’s right, I said it, chosen a lifetime of dependency on others? Do you spend the money to create opportunity? Or do you spend the money to reward those who have refused to take advantage of opportunity?
Only government and those who think our country is great because of government, would have a tough time with that decision. Everyone else, like myself feel that money should never have been stolen from us, the taxpayers in the first place.

Terrorism in Iraq, yes. Civil war, not even close..
For over a week now we have been told by the mainstream media that Iraq was either on the edge of civil war or are already in one. Well doesn't seem to be the case.
An article in the New York Post, written by Ralph Peters, who is actually in Iraq tells a much different story. He writes:
THE reporting out of Baghdad continues to be hysterical and dishonest. There is no civil war in the streets. None. Period.
Terrorism, yes. Civil war, no. Clear enough?
Yesterday, I crisscrossed Baghdad, visiting communities on both banks of the Tigris and logging at least 25 miles on the streets. With the weekend curfew lifted, I saw traffic jams, booming business — and everyday life in abundance.
Yes, there were bombings yesterday. The terrorists won't give up on their dream of sectional strife, and know they can count on allies in the media as long as they keep the images of carnage coming.
He compares the situation in Iraq to a deadly epedemic. No one knows who is goping to be hit with it next. Rich or poor, soldier or civilian, Iraqi or foreigner. But it hasn't stopped Iraqis from carrying on their daily lives.
He also says Iraqi's are proud of their new government and that the transition from US troops to Iraqi forces is going very well as was seen after the Iraqi police forces restored order to the streets after the latest Mosque bombing.
Also poins out the attacks are just making the average everyday Iraqis hate the terrorists even more.
I, recently just got an update from a friend of mine who just returned from Iraq. He says things are going better than expected there, so good in fact that his unit came home early and other units that were staged in Kuwait prepared to go in was sent back as well.
Once again, the mainstream news media story just doesn't add up. They are determined to paint Iraq as a failure, just like they did with Vietnam.

Is A "Tet Offensive" Like Attack Comming From Al Qaeda In Iraq?
According to CBS News, government officials are reporting that they've learned Al-Qaeda is planning a major attack in Iraq....one they're calling "The Big Bang." Al Qaeda is under the assumption, thanks to the mainstream media, that if another major attack or a series of attacks take place....the country might be pushed to the brink...and the United States will be blamed.
So now Abu Musab al-Zarqawi sits back and waits for the prime time to strike. He knows that the war is not fought on the battlefield, but in the arena of public opinion. Islamic fanatics on both sides in Iraq expect the United States to provide absolute security in that country. When we don't, Zarqawi is hoping a civil war breaks out or that the people of the US and the world believe one is breaking out.
And when and if that happens....he also knows that the mainstream media in the United States, including the Democrats in Congress, will be standing by, to help his cause. All he has to do is make the war in Iraq look like a lost cause....then he'll run the Americans right out of that country forever. Sound familiar… it would be just like the “Tet Offensive” during the Vietnam War.
The only questions is, will President Bush and the Republicans have the back bone to stay the course in an election year if Al Qaeda's Big Bang works? Let's hope so.

12 Hours Of Saddam Tapes Shows Saddam Talking About Weapons of Mass Destruction.
Well, we now know another reason why the Cheney hunting accident story was so important to the mainstream media. It served as a distraction to some rather important and developing news.
12 hours of Audio tapes recorded from Saddam Hussein’s office have surfaced and in those tapes Saddam talks about his Weapons of Mass Destructions and moving such weapons to Syria before the US led invasion into Iraq.
The first 12 hours of the tapes — there are hundreds more waiting to be translated — are damning, to say the least. They show conclusively that Bush didn't lie when he cited Saddam's WMD plans as one of the big reasons for taking the dictator out.
Nobody disputes the tapes' authenticity. On them, Saddam talks openly of programs involving biological, chemical and, yes, nuclear weapons.
There's more. Indeed, as late as 2000, Saddam can be heard in his office talking with Iraqi scientists about his ongoing plans to build a nuclear device. At one point, he discusses Iraq's plasma uranium program — something that was missed entirely by U.N. weapons inspectors combing Iraq for WMD.
"What was most disturbing," said John Tierney, the ex- FBI agent who translated the tapes, "was the fact that the individuals briefing Saddam were totally unknown to the U.N. Special Commission (or UNSCOM, the group set up to look into Iraq's WMD programs)."
Perhaps most chillingly, the tapes record Iraq Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz talking about how easy it would be to set off a WMD in Washington. The comments come shortly after Saddam muses about using "proxies" in a terror attack.
9-11, anyone?
Of course ABC News and the main stream media left the whole part about proxies out of their report just reporting that Saddam warned the US and British in August about a terrorists attack coming to the US.
Oh, that ever so nice guy Saddam… warning us like that… Wait a minute August well that means Bush Knew!!! that bastard!!! Not so fast my friends. These tapes are from the 1990's, how convienant for ABC to leave that out.
In short, let me repeat this again: President Bush was absolutely right to invade and disarm Saddam — otherwise, he would have completely reconstituted his chemical, nuclear and bio-weapons programs when inspectors left.
Saddam probably knew better than to use them himself against the U.S. But it's likely he wouldn't have hesitated giving one or more to terror groups with which he had routine contact with.
I have been looking all over the place trying to obtain an English translation to these tapes but have not had any luck. The most information I can find in one place is from blogger Pajama Media. The tapes are at the Intelligence Summit website but they are not in English. There is a power point presentation to some key points in English but not a full transcript.
If anyone knows where I can find an English translation of these tapes, either by transcript or audio, let me know.
