History Starts After The Civil War For 11th Graders In Nevada School.

A 15 year veteran History teacher in Carson City, Nevada, is risking his job by teaching his class about the American Revolution. Joe Enge teaches 11th grade history in the Carson City public school system. He starts his history courses with the birth of our Nation and finishes with Watergate. He has now been instructed, by the people who run this school, to begin his history lessons with post-Civil War reconstruction. He is not to teach anything about the Boston Tea Party, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Bunker Hill, the Declaration of Independence, George Washington, Thomas Paine, Paul Revere, The Revolutionary War or the debate leading up to the ratification of our Constitution. The school principal excuses this insane requirement by saying that other schools are doing the same thing. Well, unfortunately, he's right. According to a Fox News Channel report I watched, many schools around the country have dropped any requirement for American history completely!!! Others, like the school in Carson City, are just focusing on our 20th Century history, completely ignoring what came before. How are we supposed to remain a free society if we do not know how we became free in the first place? But then again maybe that is the goal in all of this.

If you have studied the post-Civil War history of this country as I have you will find that it is a history of growing federal government, the weakening of state government rights to govern themselves, increased personal dependence on government, the end of the rule of law brought about by the emphasis on majority rule, and the rise in power of politicians. See there is a reason government schools, that are ran by politicians, don't want to emphasize the self-reliance and love of freedom that dominated American culture before the Civil War. If they did that they couldn’t teach our kids the new government school template. Government is good. Government is great. All rise up in praise of government. Have no fear the Government is here to take care of you.

It's The Economy, Stupid.

One of the great and many mysteries of the Bush administration's second term is that the economy is booming....but the greatest mystery maybe that the White House, for some odd and strange reason, does not seem to want to talk about it. Let's take a look at some of the good news, shall we:

1.) Gas prices are dropping like a paratrooper out of a C-130. From a high a few months ago of over $3, it's now down to a national average of around $2. The marketplace is working, though nobody seems to want to report that.
2.) Sales of new homes set a record last month. Pretty good for a housing bubble that was going to burst....doesn't seem to be happening.
3.) The stock market is up. We could break through the 11,000 point by the end of this week.
4.) Consumer confidence is up.

With numbers like these, Bush's approval numbers should be through the roof. Maybe, President Bush should be giving speeches about the economy, not his phony immigration policy that I am not even going to start ranting about.

Are Oil For Food Docuements Going Through Shredder At UN?

Is there a move at the United Nations to destroy the materials gathered in investigating the Oil For Food scandal? No... How could that be... I mean we all know the UN is perfect. Why would they have to shed docuements.

Ramsey Clark Urges More Security at Saddam Trial

Looks like the American Hater Ramsey Clark is feeling the heat at Saddam Hussein's trial. It seems the life expectancy as an attorney for Saddam is not too good, and Clark wants more security.

The Busybodies Keep Running for Office

Anti-freedom busybodies are still running for office..So, who are they, John Stossel explains it to us and tells us they want to come into your home and business and tell you what to do. Excellent column as always.

Thomas Sowell's Random Thoughts

Thomas Sowell has some random thoughts to share....Always a good read. Here are a few that got my attention:

What enables ex-President Jimmy Carter to be taken seriously is that millions of people are too young to remember what a disaster the Carter administration was. He lost his bid for re-election in a landslide for a reason.

Nightmare for the 2008 Presidential election: Hillary Clinton versus John McCain. I wouldn't know whether to vote Libertarian or move to Australia.

British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher gave the best definition of "consensus": Lack of leadership.

A liberal can be found standing over a dead body with a smoking gun in his hand and the media will remind us that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But the same media have for months been hyping insinuations that Karl Rove is guilty of something he has not even been charged with.

Someone once said that the most important knowledge is knowledge of our own ignorance. Our schools are depriving millions of students of that kind of knowledge by promoting "self-esteem" and encouraging them to have opinions on things of which they are grossly ignorant, if not misinformed.

Saddam On Trial In Iraq. Complains About Treatment To Iraqi Judge.

Saddam's trial continues in Iraq. He's being tried by an Iraqi court and by Iraqi judges. He has the privilege of counsel, something, he never gave his victims. This particular trial is for the murder of about 150 Kurds, and the testimony is quite interesting, to say the least.

Not as interesting as Saddam's behavior in the court room though. Saddam took more than five minutes to surface after the bailiff bellowed his name.

When he did show up, he cradled a copy of the Quran in his right arm. He walked with short, deliberate steps. "Peace be upon the people of peace," he said, using a traditional Arabic greeting, and raised his right hand.

A few minutes later, he complained about being mistreated by guards to presiding Judge Rizgar Mohammed Amin about having to walk up four flights of stairs, with his hands bound, because of a broken elevator. Amin said he would address the matter with court guards.

"I don't want you to tell them," barked Saddam, 68. "Order them! You are Iraqi. You have sovereignty. They are in your country. They are invaders. They are occupiers."

Isn't that some of the same arguments from the democrat party? Allegations of prisoner abuse, US soldiers are occupying a sovereign Iraq. Maybe Saddam got his notes from Howard Dean, or maybe Howard Dean gave his notes to Saddam's newest member of his defense team.

Who would that be? Former US Attorney General under Lyndon B. Johnson and Democrat whack Ramsey Clark.

This is no shock to me, Clark has a history of defending enemies of the United States. Remember back in 1985 when the Achille Lauro Cruise Ship was hijacked by Islamic terrorists and they drowned a man in a wheelchair by pushing him overboard. Leon Klinhoffer was the victims name and his family sued the Palestinian Liberation Organization. There was Ramsey Clark defending the PLO. Slobodan Milosevic is also among Mr. Clark's client list.

Now, he will try and save Saddam... As this trial goes on just remember that a lot of people on the left has been saying that the Iraq war was illegal, Iraq was better off with Saddam, we are occupying a sovereign nation and should leave. Watch how the Saddam defense will mirror these comments.

Ted Turner Claims "Iraq Is Not Better Off Without Saddam."

According to Ted Turner, Iraq is not better off without Saddam Hussein. This should come as no surprise. As we have since found out, Saddam Hussein was quite the buddy of CNN for a long time. The TV network that Ted started did their best to hide Saddam's atrocities before the war started. Eason Jordan, the chief news executive at CNN, admitted it in a New York Times Column. They claim they did it to protect the lives of an Iraqi translator and other innocent people who where not on the CNN payroll. Isn’t that nice of CNN, they will withhold information to protect people on their payroll but when it comes to withholding information or even verifying that information is true to protect American Soldiers, well they cant do that.

Anyways, with good old Saddam sitting in prison Iraqis now have more areas with cleaner water, access to electricity, and schools than they did before the war. They have had free elections with voter turnouts much higher than we have here in the US. A constitution has successfully been drawn up. It must be depressing for Ted to watch us succeed in Iraq. Maybe we should cut Ted a break.....After all he probably hasn't been this depressed since the Berlin wall fell and the Soviet Union broke up. Oh, and somebody should ask him if Iraqi women were better off being raped and having no rights under Saddam or being given the opportunity to an education and freedom after his removal?

Bruce Willis in Pro-Iraq War Film

2 weeks ago on Monday November 21 I told you about Hollywood star Bruce Willis and his recent trip to Iraq. I also told you he was considering making a movie about a unit in Iraq. He now says it is in the works.

Willis' film will be based on the exploits of the highly decorated members of the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry, known as the "Deuce Four," according to the London Times. The Deuce Four has spent the past year battling terrorists in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul.
Along with Stephen Eads, the producer of "Armageddon" and "The Sixth Sense," Willis attended the unit's homecoming ball this month in Seattle, Washington.

Willis has been to Iraq himself and said he intends to return shortly. "What I saw over there is not reflected in the news whatsoever," he told MSNBC.

"You know, the coalition forces there are getting the power turned back on. They`re getting the schools opened up. They`re getting hospitals opened back up."
The Hollywood conservative said U.S. forces have done a tremendous job in beginning to establish a modern society for the Iraqi people - "not to mention winning the war."

"This is the same fight the US fought 60 years ago,? he declared.

Sheehan Shows Up In Crawford But Where Was Everyone Else?

Turkey Season In Crawford Texas.

Cindy Sheehan went back to Crawford Texas to protest right outside President Bush's Ranch Thanksgiving Day weekend, but with a much smaller crowd.

She even had a book signing on Saturday. Judging from the pictures I don't think it will be making the New York Times Best Seller list any time soon.

Why General Motors is in trouble.

The unions want us all to believe that the blame lies within GM management. If you want to know what really happened, Michael Barone tells us why GM and the UAW's postwar economic vision failed.

The speech President Bush should give about Iraq.

With so many people now ready to give up on the situation in Iraq, James Q. Wilson reminds us that not only are we winning in Iraq, but we're winning decisively. He says it's time for President George W Bush to make a new speech on the subject. A speech that doesn't focus on who lied or didn't lie about Iraq but one that focuses on our accomplishments in Iraq, what it means and has accomplished for the rest of the world, and remind us that reconstruction will take time but also point out that the reconstruction is going a lot faster than the reconstruction of Germany after WWII. Here is the speech President Bush should give about Iraq.

Turkey Greatful To Bush For Pardon.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I ate so much mash potatoes and turkey I think I gained 5 lbs. I would like to thank Sgt. Will Fecke and his wife Krista for having me over for a delicious meal.

This picture was e-mailed to me from James in Nashville TN. I got a good laugh out of it. Thought I would share it with you guys.

Just a little warning but blogging may be light between now and Christmas. Between all the craziness at work and preparing for Christmas there is not going to be a whole lot of time to post here. But, we will be roaring come first of the year. I got some new ideas for the website. I am also thinking about bringing the internet radio station back.

I wonder if the turkey's name was Monica?

Black Friday Shopping Turns To Violence.

It's Begining To Look A Lot Like Christmas... Or Maybe Not... Has our society lost site at the meaning of Christmas?

This picture is from a Wal-Mart in Grand Rapid Michigan. People were trampled and injured when a human stampede occured as the doors opened.

Is this what the Christmas Spirit has become? Is this what our society has become? Have we become a society of modern day savages that looses all respect and dignity for our neighbor over a freakin $300 laptop at Wal-Mart?

Of course this is why I don't fight the craziness the day after Thanksgiving. Their is nothing inside any store that is worth all of this madness. I will continue to shop online.

Here is a series of photographs captured by Sun-Sentinel photographer Mike Stocker and can be found after the jump.

It took place at the entrance of a BrandsMart in Sunrise, Florida.

This poor 72 year old woman fights these savages until they finally just push her down and then step over the top of her.

Josephine Hoffman, the injured shopper said, "I was trying to get out of the way, but they knocked me down. I hit my head on the floor, and people stepped on me," she said. "I don't understand why people do these things."

This is just simply unbeleivable. It is almost like watching the decadence of civilization right before our eyes.

What ever happened to respecting your elders. I guess the me me me society has forgotten all about that.

Christmas is suppose to be the celebration of the birth of Christ. It is suppose to be about helping your fellow neighbor in the image of Christ.

It's not about being selfish, and looking out for number one, and loosing all respect for man kind as we see here.

Of course these actions should come as no suprise when we live in a society that is trying to and is successfully removing the morals of Christianity from it.

We have kicked prayer, the ten commandments and God out of public society. In doing so this is the society we have ended up with.

Check out this website for more info on the Black Friday Madness:

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.

I would like to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. Take some time and remember what you are thankful for today. After being to Iraq I have realized how much we really have to be thankful for in this country.

The majority of the poorests amongst us in this country have access to housing with running water, heat, and food. You go to the poorests neighborhoods in this country and you will find that most have an automobile, cell phones, computers, and televisions.

A lot of the people in Iraq do not even have running water. They do not have an automobile and they do not have adequate housing.

You will never ever hear me complain about having to do without again. The United States of America is God's greatest gift to man kind and for that I am thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving and thank you all for your continued support.

Al-Qaida Operatives Busted Near The Mexican Border.

In announcing the introduction of legislation aimed at preventing illegal aliens from getting driver's licenses yesterday, a North Carolina Republican Sue Myrick, member of the House of Representatives, and is being mentioned for a possible governor candidate in 2008, casually dropped a bombshell that went over the heads of most of the media covering the event – that three members of al-Qaida were recently captured trying to enter the U.S.

Public Support For The Iraq War Continues To Drop.

The latest gallup polls shows public support for the war continues to decline. Only 35% support Bush's handling of the war and 54% believe the war was a mistake. It seems that support for the war in Iraq has fallen faster than did public support for the Vietnam and Korean wars.

You know something, I have been reading "1776" by David McCulluogh, Almost finished with it. It is such a great book. It should be required reading in schools I believe. It shows in graphic detail just what we had to endure durring the revolutionary war to win our independence. I am not sure that we would have what it takes today if we had to do it again.

Anyways, There is one historic fact that I learned reading this. The Revolutionary War began in 1776 and lasted until 1783. In those seven years, there was not one period of time, not a month, not a week, or a day that the majority of the colonists were in favor of that war. But we sure are glad that they fought it anyways aren't we. What about the Democrats of today? Would they have urged that we give up on that fight? Where the loyalists back then the Democrats of today?

We have seen what happens when a president conducts foreign policy according to what the polls say. We may not be in the situation we are in if the first President Bush had taken Saddam out in 1991. We may not be in the situation we are in if the Clinton Administration had taken action.

We will continue to fight the war and we will win the war. Future generations will thank us for staying the course and giving them the freedom to live from the fear of islamic terrorism.

Is Iraq Vietnam?

Cal Thomas takes a interesting look at the comparison of the war in Iraq with the war in Vietnam. He recalls an interview with a North Vietnamese General many years later...who admitted they couldn't beat the Americans without the media. He also points out that this is not Vietnam. The stakes are much higher. He says this is a World War and it will not end until one side is left standing. Couldn't agree more.

College Professor Says Soldiers In Iraq Should Turn Their Weapons Against Superior Officers.

Professor Jon Daly at Warren County Community College wrote in an e-mail to a student who was promoting an event to honor decorated Iraqi War Veteran Lt. Col. Scott Rudder that "Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors."

Of course Daly says his comments have been taken out of context. Well, here is the whole e-mail message, I will let you decide if it was taken out of context.

I am asking my students to boycott your event. I am also going to ask others to boycott it. Your literature and signs in the entrance lobby look like fascist propaganda and is [sic] extremely offensive. Your main poster "Communism killed 100,000,000" is not only untrue, but ignores the fact that CAPITALISM has killed many more and the evidence for that can be seen in the daily news papers. The U.S. government can fly to dominate the people of Iraq in 12 hours, yet it took them five days to assist the people devastated by huricane [sic] Katrina. Racism and profits were key to their priorities. Exxon, by the way, made $9 Billion in profits this last quarter--their highest proft [sic] margin ever. Thanks to the students of WCCC and other poor and working class people who are recruited to fight and die for EXXON and other corporations who [sic] earning megaprofits from their imperialist plunders. If you want to count the number of deaths based on political systems, you can begin with the more than a million children who have died in Iraq from U.S.-imposed sanctions and war. Or the million African American people who died from lack of access to healthcare in the US over the last 10 years.

I will continue to expose your right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like your [sic] won't dare show their face [sic] on a college campus. Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors and fight for just causes and for people's needs--such freedom fighters can be counted throughout American history and they certainly will be counted again.

France Is Still Under Seige

Not that anyone cares but France is still underseiged by Muslim rioters. Of course France says, nothing to worry about, everything is back to normal.

Winning On The Battlefield Of Iraq, Loosing The War At Home.

Any way you look at it terrorist have to be pleased by what they see happening in the United States. This weekend alone we watched a Democrat Congressman John Murtha call for the immediate withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, claiming that our soldiers are suffering for nothing. Then we watched a Republican Congresswoman read a letter from a marine serving in Iraq that implied people like Murtha and other democrats are cowards for wanting to cut in run from Iraq. Then we had the overwhelming vote against an immediate withdrawal of American troops. However, they voted that Bush needs to explain his Iraq policy again.

We also watched the media hammer away with the Bush lied nonsense and then continue to show us the polls of how low the President's approval rating has fallen and that over 50% of Americans now believe the war in Iraq was a mistake.

So who exactly won a battle this weekend? Did the Republicans win because of the lopsided vote to not withdraw troops? Did the Democrats win because they were able to get the debate going? I am not sure. But there is one clear winner out there. Islamic terrorists.

Do you remember in October when I told you about a 10 paged seized letter from Osama Bin Laden's top deputy Al-Zawahri to the Islamic thug Abu Musab Zarqawi.

In the letter Al-Zawahri calls for and predicts that the United States will cut and run from Iraq. He also writes that the expelling of Americans from Iraq is the first stage of several incremental goals of the jhad in Iraq. Seems like Democrats and Al Qaeda have the same goal.

Zawahri also pointed out that over half of this battle is taking place off the battle field in the media.

The Islamic jihadist radicals who's ultimate goal is to destroy Western culture knows they can't win on the battlefield. So, now these Islamic fanatics will watch the American political class go at each other's throats. Tell me Osama Bin Ladin is not just thrilled today.

It really is starting to look like Vietnam. Winning the war on the battlefield loosing the war at home.

Bruce Willis Offers Bounty On Terrorists Heads.

In an interveiw on MSNBC's Rita Crosby: Live & Direct Bruce Willis announced his offering of a 1 million dolllar bounty on the heads of A-list terrorists like Osama Bin Ladin and Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi.

Willis, who just returned from Iraq, also slammed biased media coverage of the Iraq war. He said, "I am baffled to understand why the things that I saw happening in Iraq, really good things happening in Iraq, are not being reported on."

Well, Bruce I often wonder that myself.

Willis also said he had some interest in making 'The Deuce Four,' the story of Iraq soldiers whose heroic exploits have been chronicled by embedded blogger Michael Yon into a film.

It would be nice if Willis gets around to doing this, because it would be refreshingly original to actually have a supportive film made about US Soldiers and our accomplishments in Iraq.

It is already refreshing to actually have someone in hollywood holding the media accountable for their distorted coverage of Iraq and support the troops efforts. And Willis has actually been to Iraq unlike most of the Hollywood celebrities who make themselves out to be such experts on the subject.

Who Lied About Iraq Again?

Click here for a clip showing some of your favorite Democrats and their statements about Saddam's threat to our country.

I guess this means if Bush lied so did they since they have access to the same intelligence as the President.

Bush Administration Starts To Fight Back.

For months they have let the charge stand from the extreme fringe left that 'Bush lied' about the war in Iraq. They should know that if anything is repeated often enough, especially when it's backed by a more than willing press, people are going to start to believe it.

I guess it's better to be late to the fight than never show up at all. Vice President Dick Cheney is the latest to hit back.

There is absolutely no evidence that 'Bush lied' about anything having to do with Iraq. Also, Democrats who now pretend to oppose the war in Iraq, are the same people who looked at the same intelligence the president did and decided to support the war. Now they want it both ways and yesterday, Vice President Dick Cheney called them on it:

"And the suggestion that's been made by some U.S. senators that the President of the United States or any member of this Administration purposely misled the American people on pre-war intelligence is one of the most dishonest and reprehensible charges ever aired in this city. Some of the most irresponsible comments have, of course, come from politicians who actually voted in favor of authorizing force against Saddam Hussein. These are elected officials who had access to the intelligence, and were free to draw their own conclusions."

Truman bounced back -- so will Bush

Is George Bush politically done for? Not at all, says Jeff Jacoby, who tells us Bush will bounce back just like Harry Truman did. Interesting column.

The Free Ride Is About To End For Katrina Victims.

FEMA has announced that it is going to cut off funds to keep Katrina "evacuees" in hotels as of December 1st. So the free ride is ending.

This is horrible news! How can FEMA do such a thing to these poor folks. Who do these FEMA people think they are? Doesn't everybody know that the Constitution guarantees the right to a hotel room if a hurricane destroys your home and you failed to have yourself properly insured. Why, how dare we expect people to take responsibility plan and prepare for these kinds of things. After all, it's not the responsibility of these people to find another place to live, it's the responsibility of the American taxpayer to guarantee them a place to live.

Here is an article from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, where a lot of these hurricane victims are staying, about the panic being felt by evacuees.

One woman says she became petrified when she heard the news. She asked her daughter "What are we going to do? Where are we going to go?"

Yesterday She attended a seminar. A job seminar? A seminar on how to perfect your resume? Nope. A housing seminar. A housing seminar on how to get more free housing.

In fact in the entire article there was not once any mention of trying to find them jobs. Not a phrase about personal responsibility. It's all about free housing -- it's all about getting other people to pay for a place for them to live. Their was also a mention of panic among charitable agencies who have been working to help these people find not jobs but free places to live.

What was I thinking? Expecting someone to take control of their own destiny by getting a job. How thoughtless of me.

In fact I predict that in a few weeks that the left will be blaming this on President Bush. They will call him and FEMA the Grinch and may even bring the racist charge back for throwing so many black families with children out on the street right before Christmas.

Never mind the fact that they gave them a free ride for nearly 3 months.

Second helping of Sheehan for Thanksgiving

Cindy Sheehan is headed back into action for Thanksgiving. Cindy Sheehan is going back to the Bush's ranch, but it looks like she might be arrested. They've passed laws since the last time she was there, so you know what that means...more publicity!

Fighting For Control Of The Internet.

You do realize that there's a summit going on right now ... a summit of world leaders dedicated to the proposition of seizing control of the Internet from the United States. Too many people are asleep at the switch on this one.

More on the attempt by the U.N. to seize control of the Internet. Apparently the effort is being met with cheers from the dictators of the world. No suprise there.

Fighting Terrorism In The Senate.

Democrats forced a vote yesterday in the senate trying to force President Bush to set a timetable for the withdawal from Iraq. In other words they are ready to surrender.

Why is it so hard for these Democrats to understand that we already have a withdrawal plan, it is called finishing the job, victory.

A time limit only helps the enemy. The insurgents would be able to pull back their forces, and just wait the coalition troops out. As the withdrawal date approached the insurgents would prepare for their assault on the institutions and people of Iraq. In short order Iraq would be under the control of Islamic jihadists and would become virtual headquarters for Islamic terrorism around the world.

But don't take my word for it. Democrat Senator Joe Lieberman said said, that the action "would discourage our troops, encourage the terrorists and confuse the Iraqis." He is right. At least their is one democrat left that is not blinded by their hatred for President Bush and can see the light.

So yesterday part of the battle in the war on terror was fought in the US Senate and thanks to the Republicans the terrorists lost.

Who Is Lying About Iraq?

Think Bush lied about WMDs in Iraq and misled the nation into war? This piece in the Journal by Norman Podhoretz will take care of that argument, as well as point out several Democrats who must of been lieing as well.

Keep The Federal Government Out Of Your Car

Are you in the market for a new car? Neal Boortz has an excellent column on how to keep the imperialistic federal government out of your car. Humorous and interesting as always.

Thank God Al Gore Was Not President On 9/11

Al Gore said in an interview that global warming is a greater long-term problem than Islamic terrorism.

"I don't want to diminish the threat of terrorism at all, it is extremely serious, but on a long-term global basis, global warming is the most serious problem we are facing."

The war on terror is perhaps the armageddon knocking at the door and Al Gore thinks global warming is a bigger threat. Go figure.

John McCain: Wrong to Attack Bush

John McCain really wants that Presidential nomination and has grown a pair and says that people who insist on saying Bush lied about the war are themselves liars. Will the rest of the Republican party develop a similar backbone? Doubt it.

VETERAN'S DAY

Right now there are over 150,000 U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. They do not get a day off today either. They are away from their families, away from home and are sacrificing mightily so that the rest of us can live in freedom from fear of terrorism. It's especially important that those serving abroad know that they are appreciated...given the agenda of the mainstream media and the anti-war left.

So on this Veteran's Day...be thankful. Thank a Vet...because if it weren't for their willingness to sacrifice so much for the good of our country, we'd all be in a heap of trouble. Just like the French.

Happy Birthday To A Few Good Men (and Women)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SOME OF THE BEST MEN AND WOMEN ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH! The United States Marine Corp.

So Much For Drilling In ANWR

The move against new drilling was led by RINO (Republicans In Name Only) Congressman Charles Bass of New Hampshire. The RINO Republican had this to say: "Rather then reversing decades of protection for this publicly held land, focusing greater attention on renewable energy sources, alternate fuels, and more efficient systems and appliances would yield more net energy savings than could come from ANWR and would have a higher benefit on the nation's long-term economic leadership and security." Isn't it time we ditch thesr so called republicans.

These politicians sit on their committees grilling oil executives about their profits and the high price of gasoline, yet when it comes time to actually do something about it, like drilling for more oil...they stand in the way.

The next time you fill your tank, remember it is the government keeping the price high, not oil companies.

More Violent Islamic Attacks. This Time In Jordan

If you watch the news today you will be greeted by report after report about another Muslim homicide bombings this time in Jordan and will be told that that our policy in Iraq and President Bush is s to blame for all the troubles in the world. After all he created muslim terrorism by invading Iraq!

Here is what I have seen so far from the media this week.

1. These muslim murderers are not responsible for their actions they are just responding to the Iraq occupation and being oppressed. Why let's not even call them Muslims! You see this at work in France. All those rioters are youths not muslim and they are rioting because France just hasn't assimilated those poor "disadvantaged" youths.

2. It's George W. Bush's fault. Anytime a Muslim anywhere in the world performs a violent act against another human being, it's Bush's fault...you know, because we're in Iraq. If we would have stayed out of Iraq none of this would be happeneing.

These attacks have nothing to do with Iraq. These Islamic murderers did not commit these attacks because of Iraq, but because they hate all non-believers. To the fundamentalist Muslims, if you do not worship Allah, you must be either converted, subjugated or killed.

We weren't in Iraq on September 11, 2001...yet the Islamic terrorists still struck. What was their excuse then?

Senators Expected To Grill Oil Execs Today.

It is a sad day for the free market today. Senators are going to make the oil executives testify before the senate about their profits.

If you watch the news on television you'll see almost universal approval of the proposal to seize oil company profits. If you asked one of these people what "inventory profits" are, and why inventory profits rise and fall quickly? They wouldn't have a clue. I doubt that 10% of them could correctly state the difference between profits and profit margins, nor could they come within a few points of telling you what Exxon-Mobile's profit margin was for the last quarter. It's ok though they're right in step with the vast majority of the American public. Ignorance of basic economic matters is rampant in this country, thanks to the lack of education from government ran schools, and politicians will always exploit ignorance to expand their power.

The hearings today will be a huge victory for the anti--capitalist left in this country who has been trying for generations to demonize the very concept of profits and dream of government ownership and control of profits and production. Profits have long been described by the left using terms like "obscene," "excessive," and "windfall." Any way you cut it, profits are an ugly thing to the left. Generations of American school children, under the guidance of their leftist union school teachers, have either learned that profits are evil, or have learned nothing about the concept of profits at all. These school children have now grown into adults with the ability to vote and have a say in something they no nothing about. They couldn't write a paragraph on the important role of profits in the creation of our dynamic American economy. Even Republicans, like Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles Grassley, know what the voters don't know and are eager to exploit their ignorance with calls for evil oil companies to "give back" profits to "the people."

Politicians are so slick. "Give back profits to the people" Their is no "give back" to use the term "give back" would imply that the profits use to belong to the people and the the corporations either stole them or the profits was given to them. Bussineses do not recieve profits or steal profits, they earn them through work. The only people in this scenario who may be stealing profits is the government and the only people who may be given anything is the non achievers.

While the rest of us will get the shaft since the oil companies will just look at this as another expense to do bussines and pass it on to the consumer. Oh well at least the poor will have their energy costs paid for while the rest of us pick up the slack.

Once again I will remind you that Alexander Tyler warned that a free country can not survive once its citizens learn that they can use the ballot box to take the property of others. We are almost there.

Windfall profits

Some Politicians are demanding oil companies give back their profits...and have rekindled the idea of the windfall profits tax. Any time I have a question or need explanation on economics I turn to one of the best professors of economics Dr. Walter E. Williams provides us with an education on the different kinds of profits.

Why I Will Never Go To San Fransisco.

The voters of San Fransisco approved 58%-42% to make the ownership of a handgun illegal in San Fransisco. The law abiding citizens (you think criminals are going to turn in theirs) will now have to turn in their guns on April 1st. Otherwise known as April Fools Day, rightfully so because anyone turning in a gun is a damn fool!

Especially when you live in an area that could experience a natural disaster far worse than hurricane Katrina with no warning. Do the people of San Fransisco think the criminal element will just stay home after an earthquake their? That their will be no looting, no violence? After what we saw in New Orleans it is hard to believe that any rational thinking group would voluntarily disarm.... Oh... I did say rational didn't I? My bad, forgot who I was talking about.

I would be a criminal come April 1st in San Fransisco because their is no way I would ever turn in my best chance of self defense.

Americans Favor A Border Fence To Keep Illegals Out.

Here's something politicians in neither party wanted to hear: 60% of Americans favor the construction of a border fence to keep out illegal aliens. Oh, and 3 out of 4 say illegal immigration will influence their vote in the upcoming election. The first candidate to step forward and propose doing something about the problem can expect to do well.

Well, I am definately not for a fence. I mean a fence can also be used to keep people in after socialism has completely taken over. However I am definately for increasing border security and stopping illegal immigration. Yes, illegal immigration will influence my vote in 2006 and 2008. However just telling me that you are going to do something about illegal immigration is not going to sway me. Actions speak a lot louder than words.

Marine Lied About Atrocities, Media Ran The Story

You guys remember that former Marine who was going around talking about all of the supposed atrocities he witnessed in Iraq. You know following in John Kerry's Footsteps. Well as it turns out has been caught lieing. Oh well, I am sure he will be awarded by the Democrat Party one day. Like winning the Presidential nomination.

Ron Harris of the St. Louis Dispatch wants to know why the media lapped up the lies? Simple enough. They ran with the strory without ever checking it out because they wanted to believe it was true. That is what the news media has become. I mean this isn't the first time something like this has happened.

A manifesto of lies

The Nazi propagandists used to say that if you say something over and over again....no matter how much of a lie it is...people will start to believe it. David Limbaugh says the Democratic party is operating under the same principle these days. It seemst to be working if you believe the polls. Most Americans believe the White House did something wrong even though no crime has been found. Most Americans think Saddam did not have Weapons of Mass Destruction when he did and we did find them.

When Will The World Realize This Is WW IV?

It was the 11th night of rioting and attacks in and around Paris last night. Turn on almost any broadcast or cable newscast and you'll hear all about it. Thousands of busses and cars have been burned. Police are being shot at. Paramedics are being attacked. By who? By Muslims even though the news media keeps referring to them as "youths." Every now and then you will hear the occasional newscaster actually call them Muslim but not very often. French police have discovered a bomb-making factory in Paris. The Muslim rioters are chanting "It's Baghdad here." France, once again, is under attack and doesn't seem to know how to respond. Paris, home to those who condemned America for removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq, is under siege, by Muslim jihadists, by the very people France tried so hard to protect and appease. Proving once again that appeasing evil is never a good move.

France, in case you didn't know, is home to Europe's largest Muslim community. Sixty million French, and about 10% or about 6 million of them are Muslims. Also, isn't it interesting that France has the third largest Jewish population in the world as well. For the past five years these Muslims in France have been confining their attacks to synagogues, Jewish schools and other symbols of Judaism. Officials didn't seem to get all that worked up over the attacks as long as Jews and Jewish institutions were the target. Now the attacks have spread beyond Jewish targets. How many towns are under attack in France now? 274 reported attacks last night alone.

This isn't the first time that France has been under attack by Muslims. It happened before. It happened in 732. The French (amazingly) turned them back. If they hadn't, the entire history of the Western world might be very much different today. If you want the details, Read Mark Steyn's column.. "Wake up, Europe, you've a war on your hands" in the Chicago Sun-Times

It's not just France. These Muslims are attacking cruise ships off the African coast. Of course we heard all weekend long that "pirates" attacked a cruise ship chock full of Americans off the coast of Somalia last week. Funny how the media didn't identify Somalia as a Al Qaeda Muslim stronghold, and report that the so-called pirates were Muslims. Of course we have seen this before. In the 1800's Muslims of North Africa, known as the Barbary Pirates, were seizing American ships and cargo, and selling crews into slavery until President Thomas Jefferson sent in the Marines in February of 1804.

Then we have the Muslims who cut the heads off three Christian school girls in Indonesia within the last few weeks.

Mark Steyn also writes in his column that in Brussels Belgian police officers are advised not to be seen drinking coffee in public during Ramadan. In some Swedish cities ambulance drivers will not go into Muslim areas without police escorts.

America too. Since September 11th the list of Muslims arrested in America for plotting terrorist activities is much longer than the majority of Americans realize.

Radical Islamists Jhadists are becoming emboldened and continue to be encouraged to fight. They're attacking France right now and Jacques Chirac is talking about a "spirit of dialogue and respect." Respect? These Islamic radicals are determined to remake Europe and the world an Islamic state and will kill all that stand in their way. Jacques Chirac and other world leaders still think appeasement is the answer! No wonder these islamic terrorists are encouraged to keep fighting. How could they not be? Every time they cut off some more heads from the torsos of Christian school girls, every time they shoot a child in the back, every time they attack a nursery in Paris, or kill a school teacher in Baghdad; every time they step up their violence against the West the leaders of the countries they hate start talking about the spirit of dialogue and respect. In Paris officials are already talking about more money, more jobs, more programs, more handouts to appease the Muslims. In America we become more divided in our support for the on going war in Iraq with every suicide car bomb.

We can't even manage to get an immigration policy that would severely restrict any and all immigration and visitors from Islamic countries. They've openly expressed their hatred of us, and their desire to see as many of us dead as possible ... and we do nothing to keep them out of our country. Profiling? No way! We can't profile. We can't treat anyone of Middle Eastern appearance at an airport security checkpoint any different than we would treat an elderly woman in a wheelchair. Multiculturalism they call it, I call it the complete loss of common sense. We got to keep an "open mind, "well when does the mind become so open that your brains have fallen out. We can't even suggest that the Judeo-Christian culture of America is in any way better than a culture of violence that permeates the Muslim countries of the Middle East and the Pacific Rim.

At some point the world is going to have to realize that we're in the middle of World War IV here, and it is a war against the Islamic Jihad. I just pray that unlike WWII the world will come to that realization before winning that battle will be too bloody to imagine.

Evidence does link Saddam to WMD programs and terror groups

Despite the media and the left's attempts to prove otherwise, Jack Kelly says there is evidence linking Saddam Hussein to weapons of mass destruction and terrorist groups.

urns out that the 4th Infantry Division discovered in an ammo dump near the town of Baiji 55 gallon drums of chemicals which, when mixed together, form nerve gas. Now for those of you that don't know nerve gas is a deadly and yes is a weapon of mass destruction They were stored next to surface-to-surface missiles which had been configured to carry a liquid payload.

So we have chemicals that when mixed together form a deadly nerve gas stored next to missles designed to carry a liquid. You can do the math.

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman: Vandals Should Have Thumbs Cut Off

We've all seen graffiti on overpasses and bridges built with taxpayer dollars, only to be defaced by some misfit of society teenager with a spray can. The city tries to remove it, paint over it, whatever....but it never looks the same.

Well Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman is tired of the graffiti in his town. Speaking into a TV camera, he said "In the old days in France, they had beheading of people who commit heinous crimes. You know, we have a beautiful highway landscaping redevelopment in our downtown. We have desert tortoises and beautiful paintings of flora and fauna. These punks come along and deface it. I'm saying maybe you put them on TV and cut off a thumb. That may be the right thing to do." Can I get an Amen from the congregation!!!!

Then, he also went a bit further...saying whippings or canings should be brought back for kids who get into trouble...to set an example. Not a bad idea...perhaps it would knock some sense into them, something their parents should have done long ago. Of course, all of this will never happen...with parents who believe their kids can do no wrong and with the ACLU out there.

But it's a nice idea. Oh, and Goodman is a Democrat. There just may be hope for that party yet.

The good news from Iraq is not fit to print

Jeff Jacoby brings us The good news from Iraq ... that most of the media doesn't deem fit to deliver to you. After all you might actually start supporting the war again if you knew the good news.

The Re-inventing Of Saddam.

Now that the trial for Saddam Huessein has started prepare to watch the news media and the left try to re-invent Saddam into a victim and cast him into more of a positive light. After all, to show Saddam as evil and on trial is to showcase a George Bush success. The overthrow and capture of Saddam gives the war a purpose...and allows people to see him be punished.

The media has already started the makeover reporting that Saddam Hussein accepted an offer for exile in the United Arab Emirates days before the invasion, but the deal fell through because Saddam wanted some conditions. Anyways, expect the left to seize upon this as yet another reason the war in Iraq didn't need to take place. Saddam was going to leave! George Bush wanted war anyway! You can almost hear Cindy Sheehan practicing the chant right now for her Thanksgiving trip to the Bush Ranch.

This will be the new rallying cry for the anti-war crowd: Saddam was going to leave, but George Bush went ahead with the war anyway. Revising history to fit your political ideology is so easy, isn't it?

But there are some flaws with this. For one, George Bush told Saddam Hussein and his sons that they had 48 hours to leave Iraq. They could have left. They could have surrendered. They chose not to. That turned out to be a very bad move by Uday and Qusay who was granted an eternal desert sand nap, courtesy of the 101st Airborne.

Another Politician Taking Advantage Of Rising Oil Prices.

So-called "Republican" Senator Charles Grassley, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, says he is upset with all the money that oil companies are making. You see Grassley knows that consumers are getting mad over oil company profits, and being the politician that he is he reconizes the oppurtunity to gain some votes by addressing their concerns. Grassley is "suggesting" that the oil companies donate a portion of their profits for a "temporary" program to help pay for home heating oil for low income families and senior citizens this winter. In other words they should take the profits that they worked for and help pay for the non achievers. For those of you that do not know this is fascism.

Neal Boortz has pointed out in his column "whose profits are they anyways" that we finally have a Republican that has earned the title of fascist.

He also wonders as do I, what would be next? Automobile manufacturers could be required to spend a portion of their profits on public transit projects. Broadcasters, who, after all, are government regulated businesses, should donate a portion of their profits to buy radios for poor people so that they can get the information they need to prepare for disasters like hurricanes .... as if the poor were actually going to prepare. Homebuilders could be required to donate profits to low income housing projects. Pfizer could be required to donate profits from the sale of Viagra to fertility clinics for the poor. Just what we need, more pregnant poor people.
Financial institutions could be required to donate profits to a federally subsidized loan program for low-income Americans with bad credit. Food processors and manufacturers could be required to donate profits to community food banks. The list goes on and on.

Alexander Tyler warned that a free country can not survive once its citizens learn that they can use the ballot box to take the property of others. We are almost there.

Ever Heard Of Inventory Profits? Me Either Until Now.

Have you ever heard of "inventory profits?" Me either until I read this column, Oil Profits, Prices, And Politicians. Now I have all the ammunition I need to embarrass those anti-capitalists among us who want a windfall tax on oil company profits and any person who gripes about oil company profits into silence.

The New Racism In America Continues.

Yesterday I told you about a leftist editorial that said Clarence Thomas was not a real black.
Now in Maryland, liberals who would be quick to profess their allegiance to the civil rights movement are tossing Oreo cookies at the black Lt. Governor of Maryland who is running for a U.S. Senate seat. A liberal website depicts Lt. Governor Michael Steele as a black-faced minstrel while other liberals call him an Uncle Tom. A black New Yorker who doesn't like the fact that Michael Steele hasn't accepted the race card victemology line of the Democratic Party calls him "Simple Sambo." Kweisi Mfume, the former NAACP president, sees no problem with the name-calling and racial epithets. He says that they are just "pointing out the obvious."

So much for being the party that professes to be tolerant, inclusive and touchy-feely. Oh wait they still are all of that except around those who happen to think outside the group and identify with the wrong politics of the times.

All of this as we remember Rosa Parks. I wonder what she would have thought about this?

Preparing For The Avian Bird Flu

Unless you have been hiding out under a rock somewhere there is no doubt you have heard about the spread of the Avian Bird flu in Asia and other parts around the world. It's transmitted from birds to humans and so far it has been confined to those who handle the animals. The fear is that the flu like virus could mutate and be spread from human to human causing a widespread outbreak or a pandemic. The 1918 pandemic killed over a half a million Americans, to give you an idea of what it can do. Also keep in mind that there were a lot less Americans in 1918. In fact the population has almost tripled since then. So a half million dead in 1918 would be equivelent to 1.5 million today.

So, President Bush took to the podium to announce his potential plan, a $7 billion initiative to get ready, just in case. The plan calls for stockpiling 20 million doses of vaccine, as well as passing laws to limit the liability of vaccine manufacturers. Because of lawsuits, the number of companies making the vaccine is way down. It would seem prudent and a good idea to do a little planning don't you think. Unfortunately not every one seems to think so.

Who doesn't think it is a good idea? Who would be opposed to such a plan? Naturally, the Democrats are opposed. Immediately after the president's speech, Barrack Obama, from the Socialist Republic of Illinois, and Teddy Kennedy, "the swimmer" from Massachuesettes, were on TV complaining about it. Of course, Mr. Teddy "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy played up the class warfare angle. Who would get the shots? Only the rich? What about the poor? Obama cried about who would be in charge of distributing the shots.

So ..here we are facing a real life possibility that millions could die in a flu epidemic? For the Democrats this is just another issue they can politicize. When are they going to share their plan with us?

Since Teddy is so worried about only the rich being able to get shots and the poor not being able to get any shots. I wonder if Teddy would be willing to give his shot up first? After all he is one of the richest people in America.

What The Media Has Not Told You About The Valerie Plame CIA Leak Case.

I have gotten a lot of e-mail asking me why I have not commented on the White House CIA Leak that uncovered the identity of covert CIA Agent Valerie Plame? Some have went as far as saying that I haven't commented because the White House is guilty.

I haven't commented because their is no story here. Even if their was a story most Americans are not paying attention to it anyway. Their is no story here because nothing illegal happened here. The only thing that I will comment on about this non- story is that no one will be convicted of anything in this case.

Perhaps you don't really understand what this whole Valerie Plame thing is about. Was she or was she not a covert CIA agent? Why was Joseph Wilson sent to Africa to search out the truth about Saddam's search for uranium? You might be surprised. Why did Judith Miller sit in jail for 85 days? What story didn't she write? Cliff Kincaid writes on "The Untold Story: Joseph Wilson, Judith Miller and the CIA."

2000 Dead, In Context

"2000 Dead, In Context" is an excellent collumn written by Victor Davis Hanson. Hanson compares the statistics with many of America's other wars, and points out that presidents always take the blame, even when the conflict is unavoidable. This is a must read for those of you who are steadfastly opposed to the action in Iraq as well as those of you who are just flat-out tired of the conflict.

Clarence Thomas Not A Real Black?

An actual editorial in a newspaper is saying an asterisk should be put by Clarence Thomas' name because he's not a real black. This proves once again that if you're a black conservative, the civil rights crowd doesn't want anything to do with you. It's the new racism in America.

Judge Probed Patrick Fitzgerald for Misconduct.

Looks like Leakgate Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald was once probed for prosecutorial misconduct. But you will probably never hear about it much in the mainstream media.

Getting The Rosa Parks Legacy Right

Thomas Bray writes an interesting column about the passing of Rosa Parks. He says her legacy should be remembered as a civil rights revolution for human liberty, the right to be treated equally before the law, the right to choose one’s own path. In other words, human dignity and not for the victimology popular among latter-day civil rights leaders, who assert that African Americans are still trapped in a racial miasma of poverty, discrimination and de facto segregation.

50 CENT SLAMS KANYE'S 'BUSH IS RACIST' COMMENT

An interesting bit of common sense from 50 cents...Rapper 50 Cent says Hurricane Katrina was an act of God, it wasn't George Bush's fault and people did the best they could to respond. Perhaps he'd like to replace Howard Dean in running the Democratic National Committee.

Al Franken Beats Up A Conservative Reader In New Ad!

You can watch Al Franken's little video, where he beats the crap out of a conservative reader, which is probably not to far off from what Al Franken thinks of conservatives. After all he has been calling for the execution of Scooter Libby and Karl Rove before they have even been found guilty.

Politicians And The Big Bad Price Gouging Oil Companies

Hillary Clinton has a plan on how to deal with oil companies and high gas prices: 20 billion dollars in new taxes on oil and gasoline.

The top Democrat said her goal is to get "oil companies that have experienced these amazing profits either to reinvest them in our energy future to reduce our dependence on oil or to contribute to a strategic energy fund that will provide incentives for companies and consumers who want to be part of an energy solution."

Even Republican U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn. has asked to have hearings on why energy prices are so high and said oil executives would be asked to testify.

Riiiight!!! Tax the amazing profits from the evil "price gouging" big oil companies. Make those bastard oil executives testify on why energy prices are so high. I mean how else could their profits jump so high unless they were price gouging us! Well... not so fast.

It is true that oil profits are up, way up. Overall oil companies profits are up 75%. Exxon/Mobile had a record quarterly profit of $9.9 billion and Shell reported a profit of 9 billion for the third quarter. However this is not a result of price gouging it is a result of supply and demand.

Of course since the majority of Americans were educated in a government ran public school system they do not have even a simple basic understanding of economics or how the free market works.

Any politician who cries that there is price gouging going on is one of 2 things. They are either lacking the knowledge of economics or they are taking advantage of your ignorance to increase their power while trying to convince you that they are doing something about it so they will have your vote. (Republicans and Democrats are both guilty.) Instead they should be educating you about the real situation like I am going to do here.

OK. lets go back to supply and demand. Oil Companies like Exxon/Mobile, Shell and others spend money on researching, exploring and extracting oil from the ground. Lets say they spend $15 a barrel doing this. Now the price of oil has gone up to $70 dollars on the world market because of increased demands from China and India which are driving up the prices. So what are the oil companies to do? Sell their oil at a discount? No, they are beholden to their share holders to make as much profit as possible. Besides if they did sell it at a discount the world would buy up every barrel in existence and then we would have a major oil shortage which would drive prices up even higher.

Now another thing that the majority of Americans were never taught in government ran public school systems is the difference between profits and profit margins. Don't take my word for it, ask someone where you work or go to school with, someone at the mall, doesn't matter who, just ask them what is the difference between a profit and a profit margin? See if they can come up with an answer. Simply put, your profits are the money that's left over from gross revenues after you pay the costs of doing business. Profit margins are the percentage of gross revenues that are left over after you pay those costs. Sadly, I am willing to bet that over 80% of Americans do not know the difference, and it will be those people who think they are getting screwed over by the big bad evil price gouging oil companies.

Now lets expand on our explanation of profits and profit margins for those of you who are learning this for the first time. Oh and if you are a college grad and you are learning this for the first time you should demand your money back since you have been robbed of an education. Especially since I know this stuff and I have nothing more than a private high school diploma.
Anyway, let's say that the total gross revenues for a company for one year equal $1,000,000. That's a million bucks. This company spends $930,000 to bring in that million. The difference between the one million and the $930,000 is $70,000. That's your profit. Divide the $70,000 by the one million and you get 0.07, or 7%. That's your profit margin. Now let's say that the very next year the company sells twice as much product the second year and brings in two million bucks. Let's also say that the cost of making those products doubles as well .. to $1,860,000. How much money did you have left over? Those of you who went to government ran public schools get out your calculators .. the rest of you can figure it out in your head. You have $140,000 left over. That's your profit.

Oh my, it seems that your profits doubled! What is going on here? Why you must have been price gouging.

Not so fast. Let's grab those calculators again. Divide the $140,000 in profits by the $2,000,000 in gross receipts and what do we have? Why, it seems the answer is once again 0.07, or 7%! The profits have doubled, but the profit margin remains exactly the same!

Now lets compare oil companies' profit margins to other businesses. The average profit margin for a successful business is anywhere from 7 to 14%. The S&P's average profit margin for the third quarter was 12% the banking industry had a profit margin of 20%. Anyone want to take a guess at what Exxon/Mobile's profit margin was? What do you think 14, 20%, higher??? Noped. It was only 9.8%. In other words it takes a lot more money to make money and keep up with demand in the oil business.

The problem here is that, thanks to the lack of education the vast majority of Americans have received at the hands of the government, few people know the difference between a profit and a profit margin. They read that oil company profits have gone up and they have no educational basis upon which to balance the fact that oil company revenues have also gone up ... thanks to the increase in the price of crude oil. Revenues go up. Profits go up. Since refineries were damaged in the hurricanes it costs money to rebuild them and it creates a shortage of gasoline because less oil is being refined. It's not really that hard to understand.

Look. I'm not trying to put down, or degrade the government ran public schools here that is a whole different rant; but the more I think about it the more I'm convinced that so many of the problems that we face today as a nation are the direct or indirect result of the poor education most Americans get from their state ran public school systems. It's clear that the majority of Americans have little knowledge of the role of prices in the allocation of resources by the marketplace, and the relationship of profits to those prices. Politicians, like Hillary Clinton and Bill Frist, exploit that ignorance to enhance their personal political power at the expense of our economic liberty.

The answer to solve the problem of rising gas prices is for the government to get out of the way of the oil companies. The solution is to drive up the supply, which will lower the price. It is time to allow the drilling in the ANWAR, off the shores of the United States and anywhere else we can drill for crude. There is plenty of oil in the ground....the problem is liberals in congress won't let the oil companies drill for it because they are owned by enviromental extremists.

The next step is to remove all the government red tape to build oil refineries...the places where oil is turned into gasoline. There hasn't been a new one built in over 30 years, thanks to the environmentalists. New refineries could also refine some of the cheaper, rougher crude...which would also bring down prices.

Unfortunately none of this will happen. Instead we will get politicians who will talk about price gouging and the big evil oil companies. We will also here about conservation, electric cars, and other alternative fuel sources. That's all well and good....and advances in technology do need to be pursued to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. The bottom line is this, for the foreseeable future, cars need gasoline, trucks need diesel fuel, homes need heating oil and airplanes need jet fuel.

In the meantime, if we continue to do nothing, the price of oil will continue to stay high, the oil companies will get richer and politicians will start talking about things like price controls, which never work and result in shortages. Just ask the former communist Soviet Union. Price controls worked out about the same for them as it did for President Jimmy Carter. I am pretty sure no one wants to return to those days.

Schumer Uses Rosa Parks To Slam Alito.

New York Senator Chuck Schumer made a rather harsh comparison between Rosa Parks and new Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito.

Schumer said "Alito, like Rosa Parks, can make history simply by virtue of where he sits."

Schumer, who serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, praised Parks for her civil rights courage while using that same courage and legacy as a slap at Alito.

"Will Alito, like Rosa Parks, use his seat to change the course of history for the better, or will he return it to the injustice of the past?" Schumer asked.

"Return it to the injustice of the past?" Is Schumer trying to say that Alito would bring back segragation if he is placed on the high court?

"It's sad that the president felt that he had to pick a nominee likely to divide America, instead of picking a nominee like Sandra Day O'Connor that had united America," Schumer said.

"United America?" For five years Senator Schumer and his liberal friends have been telling us, "We are the most divided in our history." They've been complaining about how divided we are. They said Bush promised unite us, not divide us, and he's been a divider not a uniter. They have been upset that we're not unified. So now we have Chuck Schumer a United States senator running around saying, "We need somebody who's going to keep us unified! Sandra Day O'Connor united us and we need to stay united."

So which is it Chuck? Are we united or are we divided? And how did Sandra Day O'connor unite us? Maybe it was when she cast the deciding vote that allowed the government to take your property and give it to a private developer to build a shopping center that would generator more tax dollars than your house under "emminent domain."

Clearly that should have united all freedom loving Americans together against her.

Let The Battle For Alito Begin.

Bring it on liberals! President Bush has nominated Federal District Court Judge Samuel Alito to replace the biggest mistake of the Reagan Administration Sandra Day O'Connor. Alito is much more along the lines of Justices Scalia or Thomas. Good. This is exactly what we need.

The Democrats need to be drawn into a real political battle and exposed for who they are. Leftist, liberal, judicial activists who don't want to cede control of their only power center they have left...the Supreme Court. You see, Alito is what they call a constructionist, somebody that believes in interpreting the United States Constitution exactly as it is written, and not legislating from the bench. This upsets the folks on the left like Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer and Patrick Leahy who think the Constitution is a "living document." They realize that with the retiring of O'Connor, a lot more decisions like the eminent domain desicion will not go their way if Alito takes that seat.

This part is important. The left with the help of the mainstream media is going to try and cast this nomination into a debate about abortion. Conservatives be warned...Do not take the bait. Abortion will never be made illegal throughout the United States. If Roe vs. Wade were overturned tomorrow, all 50 states would immediately take over with their own laws. The vast majority of the American people are pro-choice, so that issue is really settled. Alito's nomination has nothing to do with abortion.

It's all about Democrats realizing that they will be losing power. The power of the only thing that allows them to get their liberal agenda into law the Supreme Court. Since they can't win elections with their liberal agenda they will no longer control anything...not the White House, the House, the Senate nor the Supreme Court. Since lifetime appointments tend to last a long time...they're not going to give up without a fight. I can't wait to see just how ridiculous they will look doing it.
