New York Times with good news from Iraq, Democrats must be heartbroken.
It seems that Gen. David Petraeus and the troop surge may have been just the right medicine for Iraq. In what seemed to be a lost cause just a few months ago now seems to be showing signs of progress. In fact the news is so good coming out of Iraq not even the New York Times can ignore it.
Michael E. O’Hanlon and Kenneth Pollack just got back from meeting with American and Iraqi military personnel and have some real good news to share in this New York Times Op-Ed piece titled A War We Just Might Win. O’Hanlon and Pollack write: “Here is the most important thing Americans need to understand: We are finally getting somewhere in Iraq, at least in military terms. As two analysts who have harshly criticized the Bush Administration’s miserable handling of Iraq, we were surprised by the gains we saw and the potential to produce not necessarily “victory” but a sustainable stability that both we and Iraqis could live with.”
You will have to read the rest of the article that is filled with all kinds of good news from Iraq. If you are a democrat, or plan on showing this to a democrat, I must warn you, such good news has been known to depress democrats and make them take irate action.

Billary Clinton wants a Public Service Academy.
Presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton told University of South Carolina College Democrats on Saturday she would create a national academy to train public servants. "I'm going to be asking a new generation to serve," she said. "I think just like our military academies, we need to give a totally all-paid education to young men and women who will serve their country in a public service position."
In other words, Billary wants more young people to be non-military government employees, what is the big deal you say.
Think about this: Liberals believe that this country is great because of the government; not because of individual freedom. So, in the eyes of people like Billary, the best way to make America even better is to strengthen and grow the government. What better idea than to get free citizens to work for the government instead of the private sector.
This falls under the good little sheep indoctrination plan. If you train more people to be good little government workers then you have more sheep in the herd. Sheep are very dependent animals and are followers….baa baa…some one take care of me…baa… A democrats dream come true.
Billary also mentioned universal health care for her little sheep and expanding early childhood education. It is never to early to start the indoctrination process in government schools. After all you have to train those sheep…baa…baa…
One woman carried a sign during Clinton’s visit that read: “She doesn’t care, all she wants is power.” I guess this woman must have been the black sheep in the herd.

Fred Thompson answers the question.
Fred Thompson answers the question! The FairTax question that is, he still remains the only person who knows if he is running for President or not.
Fred Thompson at a fundraiser in Houston was asked if he was president and legislation was passed to make the FairTax law if he would sign it. Thompson responded with “Absolutely.”
There are now seven candidates and possible candidates on record for supporting the FairTax, five republicans, one democrat, and one potential republican candidate.
Republicans Candidates in support of the FairTax:
Mike Huckabee
Duncan Hunter (Co-sponsor of the bill)
Tom Tancredo (Co-sponsor of the bill)
John McCain
Tommy Thompson
Potential Republican Candidates in support FairTax:
Fred Thompson
Democrat Candidates in support of the FairTax:
Mike Gravel
Note: Other Democrat Candidates have failed to give a yes no answer on the FairTax.

I have mentioned this before, Barack Obama is a Senator from my home state of Illinois, and I cannot figure out what he has done to even deserve a chance at the presidency. Can somebody, anybody please tell me what Barack Obama has ever done? I thought maybe John Dickerson could tell me in his column Obama’s Achilles’ Heel: What’s he ever done? I guess not.
Newt Gingrich says it will be a Clinton-Obama ticket for the democrats in 2008. That should make for some real good blogging don’t you think?
Congress says we have an energy crisis. Peter Du Pont says it is more of an energy challenge and it is more political than substantive. He also claims Congress’s energy plan will hinder the economy. His solution to the problem: Just Drill, Baby. I have been saying this for more than 5 years.
Looks like the Army is offering $20,000 for new recruits willing to ship for training in 30 days or less.

MTCW Idiot of the Week
It is Monday and that means it is once again time for the My Two Cents Worth’s Idiot of the Week.
This week we return to the halls of the U.S. Congress to find our idiot. It seems there are a lot of idiots there.
This week’s winner goes to yet another freshmen Democrat, Rep. Nancy Boyda (D-Kan.)
Boyda and several of her democrat colleagues have seemed to secretly invest in defeat in Iraq for sure political reasons. Any good news from Iraq is bad news for the Democrat Party.
Well, it seems with Gen. David Petraeus now in charge things have taken a swift change for the better in Iraq. A flow of good news is now coming from Iraq. It is hard to find in the media, but it is there.
News like this seems to be more than Boyda can stand as she illustrated her true feelings during a briefing from (Ret.) Gen. Keane. The news from Iraq was so good she just couldn’t take it and literally walked of the House Armed Service Committee briefing.
Boyda later explained her tantrum by making this statement:
“And I just will make some statements more for the record based on what I heard from -- mainly from General Keane. As many of us -- there was only so much that you could take until we in fact had to leave the room for a while. So I think I am back and maybe can articulate some things -- after so much of the frustration of having to listen to what we listened to.”
“But let me first just say that the description of Iraq as in some way or another that it's a place that I might take the family for a vacation -- things are going so well -- those kinds of comments will in fact show up in the media and further divide this country instead of saying, here's the reality of the problem. And people, we have to come together and deal with the reality of this issue.”
Well Nancy, dealing with the so called reality of the issue would mean acknowledging the significant progress that is being made by American troops under the command of Gen. Petraeus in Iraq. A situation that she and her party have proven they are unwilling to deal with. In fact, after covering her eyes and ears and walking out of the room she will now try to pull the wool over everyone else’s eyes.

FairTax Rally comming to Iowa
OK all you FairTaxers, mark August 11, 2007 on your calendars, and now make plans to attend the FairTax rally to be held before the republican primary presidential debate in Ames, Iowa.
Events will start at 10:00 a.m. with another Neal Boortz-led rally of music, speeches and appearances by presidential candidates and other invited guests.
Afterward, there will once again be a “march for the FairTax” handing out FairTax literature as well as “gently” reminding the national media and presidential candidates that FairTax supporters cannot be ignored.
In addition, there will be a 2,000 person, air-conditioned tent with food, beverages and entertainment where you can take a break from the day’s activities as well as educate visiting Iowans--and perhaps a presidential candidate or two--about the benefits of the FairTax. You will also have the chance to visit all the presidential candidates’ tents and hear their speeches.
Come on Midwest; let’s show the South we can rally too.

CAIR plans to continue suing "John Does" reporting possible terrorist activities.
Our good friends at the Council of American Islamic Relations has decided they will continue to sue “John Does” that report suspicious activities they believe might be connected to a potential act of Islamic terrorism.
CAIR started this act of suing “John Does” after passengers on an airplane in Minneapolis reported suspicious activities of six Imams. The six Imams were removed from the plane.
That incident brought legislation from republicans in Congress to propose legislation that would protect “whistle blowers” from legal action. Democrats recently voted against and killed the bill.
Well it would seem this week the Democrats have all of a sudden had a change of heart and decided to include what is being dubbed as the “John Doe” provision in the Homeland Security bill. This provision, should it become law, would protect individuals who report suspicious activities from harassing lawsuits from organizations like CAIR.
CAIR has announced the organization will support anyone who wants to sue “John Does.”
They plan on launching this campaign against vigilant Americans by using something called “good faith” loopholes. You can still sue “John Does” if their reporting is found to not be in “good faith.” Here is the best part, It is up to the court to determine the question of “good faith.”
CAIR understands they can’t win these lawsuits, but winning them is not their goal. Their goal is harassment. They want you to understand that if you report anything you think to be suspicious, and if that report puts a spotlight on a Muslim, you may face a lawsuit. You might defeat the lawsuit, but you will have to pay for a lawyer and no doubt lose time from work.
CAIR knows the cost associated with facing a lawsuit will cause many Americans to keep their mouths shut, even when something doesn’t seem quite right. Here is a perfect example of why we should have a loser pays legal system.
A “John Doe” who witnessed suspicious activity spoiled the Fort Dix terror plot. Imagine how that could have turned out differently had he not reported it in fear of a possible lawsuit.
Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs has a clip from CAIR spokesperson Ibrahim Hooper on MSNBC’s Tucker Carlson.

USA Today: Some say schools giving Muslims special treatment.
Yes, you can include me in the some. I have been saying it for quite a while now.
In this article by Oren Dorrell writes that some public schools and universities are granting Muslims requests for prayer times, prayer rooms and ritual foot baths.
University of Michigan at Dearborn has plans to build a footbath for Muslim students to wash their feet before prayer.
An elementary school in San Diego allows an extra recess period for Muslim students to pray.
Amazing, all this is being paid with your tax dollars. Isn’t that just great. So much for separation of church and state, in fact where is the ACLU on this? Well, it seems this is a gray area.
Barry Lynn, of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, says however that the law is murky on these expressions of faith. And the American Civil Liberties Union says overt religious symbols like crucifixes are not legal, but whether Muslim footbaths and prayer rugs fall into that category is not clear.
"That's a difficult one, and it's right on the edge," says Jeremy Gunn, director of the ACLU program on freedom of religion and belief in Washington, D.C.
The ACLU claims they are waiting to see what kind of policy the schools settles on before deciding whether to sue or not.
I guess that must be because the “law is murky” or just “not clear.” Well, let me clear the water up for you.
It is pretty obvious what kind of policies the schools are deciding to settle on. Here is an idea, how about trying to get extra recess sessions for Christian and Catholic students to pray. How far do you think you would get with that before the ACLU puts a stop to it? They definitely would not be using the where going to see where the school settles on before we sue routine. They have filed lawsuits for quite less in the past.
This is nothing less than a victory for Muslims who wish to see the United States under Islamic Law. They continue to use political correctness as their weapon to accomplish their goals.
Now before you start with the hate mail, let me make it clear, I know not all Muslims care about an Islamic state, in fact most probably just want to be left alone, but there are far to many that would use the power of government to achieve Islamic law.
I use to not believe in the separation of Church and State. I believe that Thomas Jefferson was not in favor of religious abolition from the public spectrum, but rather was trying to say one religion should not be favored over the other. However, it now seems the only way to do that is to have separation of Church and State.
Let’s be honest, while we are at it. There are several Christian groups in this country that are just as guilty of using the power of government to try and spread their laws as well.
There, now I will get hate mail from both groups!

Country Boys and Girls better in Science and Math than city kids. Why I am not surprised.
Here is an interesting study that finds rural children perform better in science and math than their city peers. The results find:
Rural students did better on national science tests than urban students in every grade level.
In math, rural students did better than urban students at every grade level.
Rural fourth and eighth-graders read better than urban students.
Here is the actual study.
Now, let me tell you why this Country Boy from a farm in downstate Illinois is not one bit surprised by any of this.
There is no doubt real world application plays a role here. Country kids are exposed to science their whole lives. Learning how corn grows, where milk and beef comes from, and I very likely doubt there are any Country Boys or Girls that can be fooled into believing offspring comes from a stork as most have witnessed the birth of animals.
There is also a lot of math involved on a farm. How much is corn worth at harvest, how many bushels of corn needed for a profit. How much is livestock worth at the market. So, there is really no surprise here.
Another thing that may be playing a factor, country kids are just not exposed to the urban anti-achievement I don’t have to work culture. Most country boys and girls will do more physical labor in one day that their city counter parts will do all month and have more responsibilities around the farm as well.
I remember waking up at 4:30 am as early as 12 years old to feed the livestock before school started. I also remember working well before the sun comes up and well after the sun goes down during harvest season.
Here is something that was not noted in the article, but I have noticed from my experiences. As Hank Williams Jr. says Country folks can survive.
Because you can’t starve us out And you cant makes us runv Cause one-of- ‘em old boys raisin ole shotgun And we say grace and we say Ma’am And if you ain’t into that we don’t give a damn.
I can catch catfish from dusk til dawn, I can skin a buck and I can run a trout line, cause a country boy can survive. We do not need any help from the government to do it either!

For those of you who think that Islamic terrorists are nothing but third world, ignorant, radical, religious murderers – do not under estimate them. This article by Daniel Henninger points to many of the high tech capabilities of such terrorists ... particularly their strategic use of the web. It is an Information War and they are winning!
Great Column by Kathryn Jean Lopez who points out being politically correct is no way to win the war against Islamic terrorists. She says a state of delusion is no way to fight a war and we must not be scared to call a war a war.
Amen! Can I get a hallelujah from the congregation! Do you think they are worried about political correctness when planning how to blow up innocent civilians? Politicians who dodge the subject are weak, and will make America weak as a result.

It was only a matter of time before this happened. Hollywood is gearing up to film anti-war movies. Just in time for the election season. Remember when Hollywood helped us win the war that was so 1940’s gosh!
Republican Minority leader John Boehner says Congressional Republicans are back to their founding principles of limited and accountable government. OK, well actions speak louder than words John and right now I am just not seeing it.
This article gives you something to think about and asks a really good question about “global warming:” If scientists can't get near-future projections in a limited area right, how can they predict the climate decades from now?
Hugo Chavez continues to give himself more and more power. He has abolished term limits and is currently re-writing the Constitution without any outside help except for a group of hand picked cronies. Oh and religion, it is on its way out too, just like what happened in Cuba. I wonder how long it will be before that happens here.
Is tax reform on its way back to our Congress? Will the FairTax be part of the debate? George Will takes a look in his column.
George Will’s column has the word “Sisyphus,” I have never heard of it until this week. I have run across the word twice now.... So maybe it's time to figure out what the heck a Sisyphus is!

MTCW Idiot of the Week.
It is Monday once again and time for the My Two Cents Worth Idiot of the Week.
This week we look to New York City to find our idiot. There is no doubt the “Big Apple” has its fare share of idiots, but this week one of the biggest idiots was 20 year old John Aponte.
Aponte is a Soldier, and his unit is getting ready to head back to Iraq. Aponte decided he would rather be shot than go back to Iraq, so he and his wife, Alexandra Gonzalez, 22 hired a hit man for 500 dollars to shoot him in the leg. Now all three of them have been arrested and charged.
I don’t know about you, but I can think of a lot better ways to get out of deploying…a lot less painful as well.

John Aponte you are the MTCW Idiot of the Week.

No time today, here are some Country Boy's suggested reading and viewing from around the web.
Senator Joseph Lieberman reminds us of our vulnerability. "Now is not the time to let down our guard against terrorists," he says. Lieberman seems to be the only Democrat left standing with half a brain!
The Taliban killed six girls coming home from school in Afghanistan. This is the Taliban's genius way of protesting the government ... by killing government school children. Pure evil... recognize it and then defeat it folks.
The UK has decided that children will no longer learn about Winston Churchill, one of the most famous historical figures in history. Instead, they will learn about other important topics such as global warming and the dangers of drugs. Also off the required learning list, Hitler, Gandhi, Stalin and Martin Luther King.
Are you an illegal alien in need of some financial aid for school? Well amigo’s just click here for step by step instructions on how to get financial aid. Isn’t that great! I mean, it is the least we can do to welcome them into our country. los buenos dÃas, Qué tal, me llamo tony, bienvenidos a América. Espero que usted trajera la tequila.
The police officers at Glasgow Airport were not armed during the attempted Islamic terror attacks. What the hell is the use of having an unarmed police officer? Seems like a waste of tax payer money to me.
So much for the customer is always right. Sprint dumps 1,000 customers for complaining too much. Customers told their wireless needs can not be met and they have one month to find a new provider.
John Edwards is on a mission to "diversify" government schools. He wants to encourage income diversity so that everyone can have a fair shot at a government education. In other words he wants bad education spread equally... yep, sounds like a liberal plan to me!
Columnist William Kristol says Bush will be a winner. How so? Three reasons: No second terrorist attack, a strong economy and the Iraq war is starting to improve. Interesting point of view.

Check your stock portfolio, you may be indirectly investing in terrorism.
Are you unknowingly investing in terrorism? I was!
Take a look at your stock portfolios you may be investing in terrorism and not even know it!
The U.S. State Department says terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as insurgent groups fighting U.S. troops in Iraq; get financial assistance from governments and private groups in Iran, Syria and Sudan. This support is so crucial for these groups that the U.S. government discourages companies from doing business in these countries.
By contributing to the economic growth and development of these countries, these companies are somewhat supporting terrorists, as well as insurgents that attack U.S. troops.
Here is the list of U.S. companies regularly do business in Iran, Syria or Sudan, all countries the State Department calls "state sponsors of terrorism": ConocoPhillips (COP, news, msgs), MasterCard (MA, news, msgs), Western Union (WU, news, msgs), energy equipment and services companies Schlumberger (SLB, news, msgs) and Natco Group (NTG, news, msgs), and Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG, news, msgs).
Here is the list for Foreign companies listed on U.S. exchanges doing business in these countries include: BP PLC (BP, news, msgs), Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A, news, msgs), Total (TOT, news, msgs), Eni (E, news, msgs), Petro-Canada (PCZ, news, msgs), Siemens (SI, news, msgs), Nokia (NOK, news, msgs) and Deutsche Bank (DB, news, msgs).
Well folks, as it turns out I owned stock in one of these companies and it was one of the worst offenders, Siemens. I took a loss of about 1,000 dollars to sell every last penny of it, but I don’t care. I refuse to invest in a company that does business with the enemy.
Siemens has been providing Iran with know-how and equipment to support power plant construction, power generation and distribution, rail transport and telecommunications.
The fact that Siemens is helping Iran with their military command and communications is appalling and disturbing especially when it is a real possibility that we might be at war with Iran in the future. It is also disturbing to think insurgents may be using Siemens communication equipment to blow up remote controlled IEDs used against our troops!
I urge you to take a look at your stock portfolio, and make sure you are not supporting terrorism.

U.S. General Speaks Strongly Against Troop Pull Out
This story written by John F. Burns appears in today's New York Times! I am in complete amazement they actually printed this. I may have a found new respect for the Times. I am sure it will be short lived though.
Anyways, we has a U.S. General speaking out against withdrawal of troops in Iraq.
Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, commanding 15,000 American and about 7,000 Iraqi troops on Baghdad’s southern approaches, spoke more forcefully than any American commander to date in urging that the so-called troop surge ordered by President Bush continue into the spring of 2008. That would match the deadline of March 31 set by the Pentagon, which has said that limits on American troops available for deployment will force an end to the increase by then.
“It’s going to take us through the summer and fall to deny the enemy his sanctuaries” south of Baghdad, General Lynch said at a news briefing in the capital. “And then it’s going to take us through the first of the year and into the spring” to consolidate the gains now being made by the American offensive and to move enough Iraqi forces into the cleared areas to ensure that they remain so, he said.
General Lynch, who commands the Third Infantry Division, said all the American troops that began an offensive south of Baghdad in mid-June were part of the five-month-old troop buildup, and that they were making “significant” gains in areas that were previously enemy sanctuaries. Pulling back before the job was completed, he said, would create “an environment where the enemy could come back and fill the void.”
He implied that an early withdrawal would amount to an abandonment of Iraqi civilians who he said had rallied in support of the American and Iraqi troops, and would leave the civilians exposed to renewed brutality by extremist groups. “When we go out there, the first question they ask is, ‘Are you staying?’ ” he said. “And the second question is, ‘How can we help?’ ” He added, “What we hear is, ‘We’ve had enough of people attacking our villages, attacking our homes, and attacking our children.’ ”
General Lynch said his troops had promised local people that they would stay in the areas they had taken from the extremists until enough Iraqi forces were available to take over, and said this had helped sustain “a groundswell” of feeling against the extremists. He said locals had pinpointed hide-outs of Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, an extremist group that claims to have ties to Osama bin Laden’s network, that had been used to send suicide bombers into Baghdad and they had helped troops locate 170 large arms caches. The general said the locals had started neighborhood patrol units called “Iraqi provincial volunteers” that supplied their own weapons and ammunition.
“What they’re worried about is our leaving,” he said. “And our answer is, ‘We’re staying,’ because my order from the corps commander is that we don’t leave the battlespace until we can hand over to the Iraqi security forces.” To hold on to recent gains, he said, would require at least a third more Iraqi troops than he now has, and they would have to come from other battle areas, or from new units yet to complete their training. “Everybody wants things to happen overnight, and that’s not going to happen,” he said.
General Lynch said he was “amazed” at the cooperation his troops were encountering in previously hostile areas. He cited the village of Al Taqa, near the Euphrates about 20 miles southwest of Baghdad, where four American soldiers were killed in an ambush on May 12 and three others were taken hostage. One of the hostages was later found dead, leaving two soldiers missing. Brig. Gen. Jim Huggins, a deputy to General Lynch, said an Iraqi commander in the area had told him on Saturday that women and children in the village had begun using plastic pipes to tap on streetlamps and other metal objects to warn when extremists were in the area planting roadside bombs and planning other attacks.
Of course he is just a General in the Army. What the hell does he know. Congress is sure to know better than him...

MTCW: Idiot of the Week
It is Monday and that means it is time for the "Idiot of the Week."
This week we go to the Halls of Congress to find our idiot. I assure you he is by far not the only idiot there, but he is this week's winner.
The winner is America's first Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison who compared President George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler while addressing some Atheists in his home state of Minnesota.
Ellison then went on to say he would not accuse the Bush Administration of planning 9-11, but only because "you know, that's how they put you in the nut-ball box -dismiss you"
Oh the voters of Minnesota must be so proud to have such a statesman representing them.
So, Ellison compares President Bush to Hitler; still no word on what he compares Islamic Terrorist who have hijacked his religion in their continuous effort to enforce an Islamic State of the world.
President George W. Bush is not on my favorites list right now, and I have called him several things in the recent year and a half, but he is definately not Hitler! In fact, I can't think of anyone in our political system that deserves the title of Hitler.
Congressman Keith Ellison, you are the MTCW Idiot of the Week.
I know I will get hate mail for this one. Let me help you out. tonyjspain@yahoo.com

Toy Guns! Oh My God, We can't be having those...
Look at the poor kid in this picture. What kind of parent would allow this? Why he is sure to turn out to be a menace to society all dressed up like a cowboy and slinging his toy gun. Why I bet he has even played Cowboys and Indians, which makes him a racist, no doubt.
You know what we need here. We need some government control!
Yeah, that should do the trick. Let’s have the government play the roll of parent and ban toy guns…yeah, great idea.
Well that is exactly what a New Jersey State Senator wants to do. He wants to make it illegal for anyone under 18 to buy a toy gun. But that's not all! He also wants to make it a crime to give anyone under 18 a toy gun that "looks realistic" this includes parents giving gifts to their own children! Violators would face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to six months in prison.
"We need to stress to our children that guns are not toys, but deadly weapons which should always be regarded with extreme caution and handled with respect. Restricting access to imitation firearms will help to drive that point home," Sen. Sen. Nicholas Scutari
We need government to drive this point home? What ever happened to parents? Should it not be up to the parents to decide how to teach their children about guns? Evidently not.
Stupid liberals! I wonder what they would think about this country boy going on his first hunting trip and firing his first real gun with his father at the age of 7 years old? They would probably lock my folks up for child abuse now days.
God forbid these kids learn anything at all about guns and gun safety. Why they might learn to grow up and be like Colin Bruley and learn about the right to bear arms, self-defense and perseverance. We can’t be having any of that when we are trying to get the government to do that for you.

Rudy Giuliani Boooed in Jacksonville for Opposition to FairTax.
Rudy Giuliani was booed in Jacksonville, Fla., when he tried to explain why he opposes the FairTax. Giuliani says “Our economy is dependent upon the way our tax system operates.”
Is that so, you mean to tell me that our economy is dependent on a current tax system that cost businesses 300 billion a year. Actually, if you think about it, it costs you, the consumer that much a year. The expense gets passed on to you, and taking out of your potential raises to cover the cost of the current system.
The FairTax system that would make the U.S. the world's number one tax haven; a tax system that would completely un-tax the poor; a tax system that would have every major business in the world looking for a way to locate operations in the United States; such a tax system would be bad for our economy? By the end of the town hall meeting Giuliani was changing his tune and said he “had to study it some more” Gee, you think.

Country Boy's Random Thoughts.
How about some Country Boy Random Thoughts? Some fans say they are better than most members of Congress' organized thoughts...
Well thanks, but that isn't hard to do. Here they are...
So if Hillery Clinton becomes president that makes Bill the first gentlemen? Argh…that is the last thing he evere deserves to be called.
Now that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be racing teammates with Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson, I wonder if Hendrick Motorsports will discover too many studs in the stable after the same prize always leads to trouble.
A poll of 2,000 British adults last month found that the British are more concerned about terrorism, graffiti, crime and dog poop than they are about “global warming” or “climate change.” Yeah, that is right, it says dog poop. This brings me a whole new respect for the Brits. Bloody dog poop! It is a problem!
Democrats are trying to save the world from Global Warming. Republicans are trying to save the world from Global terrorism. Even if man causes Global Warming, Global Terrorism will destroy us before we can fix Global Warming. Maybe we should focus on the real threat of Global Terrorism. After all, more than 10,600 people have died from Global terrorism so far this year, Global Warming has yet to claim a victim. Well, other than Al Gore's brain, but I think it was already gone anyway.
Bill Clinton lies to a federal grand jury. Scooter Libby lies to a federal grand jury. Both spent the same amount of time in prison for their crime. I don’t understand what the left is upset about.
It seems Dan Rather is not to happy with his replacement. Rather said that Katie Couric was tarting up the news. I wonder how that compares to making up the news.

Help Support the Gathering of Eagles
Support the Troops
I generally do not ask my readers to give money to any organizations. However, I can vouch for this organization, as I have an inside connection, Kimberly Allen from Texas. This organization is doing great work standing up to the anti-war moonbats and supporting the troops.
The Gathering of Eagles is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that seeks to support military personnel, veterans, and their families; inform Americans of threats to our way of life; and work for a strong national defense. To view their full philosophy, click here.
They have their Eagles Nest Fundraising Campaign going on, and they are trying to raise $175,000 pretty quickly for a national TV ad campaign prior to Gen. Petraeus’ briefing to Congress and before Congress tries to pull the plug on Iraq.
It costs money to run national TV ads folks, but this is a real important issue. So help support The Gathering of Eagles support the troops. If you can’t or won’t give money, volunteer to help out at your state chapter. Don’t have a state chapter, start one.
However, do not sit back and do nothing, or think someone else will do it. If everyone who supports the troops and this war just gave one dollar they would more than meet their goal. No donation is to small.

Now here is your chance to vote on what I should call my new blog!!!
After some brainstorming with some real good friends we came up with several names and narrowed it down to seven.
Here are the nominations:

We are losing the global war on terror, not on the battle, at home.
We are slowly losing the global war on terror, but not on the battlefield. No, the American Soldier continues to fight and win this war militarily. In fact, I cannot think of one military battle we have lost in this war. We are losing this war the only place we know how at home and in the halls of Congress.
A new report out yesterday says al-Qaeda is now up to operating strength it had prior to the 9-11 terrorist attacks against the United States and are showing greater and greater ability to plan attacks in Europe and the United States. It also claims they have created a robust training program.
The Central Intelligence Agency is on board with the analysis and a CIA official told congress on Thursday that al-Qaeda is “pretty well settled into the safe haven and ungoverned spaces of Pakistan” where they are seeing more training, more money and more communications and activity.
So, there is still a threat, and the threat is getting bigger. So why does it seem that we and the West in general are more concerned about offending Muslims feelings than we are recognizing the obvious, which is not all Muslims are terrorists, but almost all terrorists have been Muslims, in recent times.
Even the new British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, in the wake of the terrorists attempted attacks, has instructed his government to not use the word Islamic or Muslim in connection with terrorism. The Muslim terrorists still want to control, dominate, and subjugate all things not Islamic and the world is worried about offending them.
Sure we are fighting al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and Iraq, but this is just a tip of the iceberg. Al-Qaeda is still allowed safe haven in Pakistan, Iran and other places. They continue to recruit and hang out in their safe havens until they are called upon to fight in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Until we change the way we fight this war, until we recognize this is a World War, and we are truly fighting for the survival of our very own existence, this war will never end. It will just continue forever. If we had fought Nazi Germany in WWII the way we are fighting the war on terror, there is no doubt we would have lost the war, or would still be fighting it.
Here are just some thoughts that come to mind today. Where is al-Qaeda getting its money from? Iran? The money is coming from somewhere. Why is Pakistan and Iran permitted to harbor al-Qaeda? Why are we not taking these training camps out with air strikes as I write this? Why is America looking so weak in the face of an enemy…and finally not if, it is really not a matter of if anymore, it is a matter of when will these terrorists hit America again? Where will it happen and how many people will die? And what will America do at that point. Will that be the ultimate wake up call to finally take the threat seriously, or will we chose to retreat and live in constant fear hoping and praying that they just leave us alone.
We already know the answer to this if Congress gets to make that decision. In the midst of these reports they passed a bill for the complete withdrawal of troops from Iraq. What an amazing act of cowardliness.
Some of these same politicians voting for the withdrawal previously voted for the war!
This makes about as much sense as deciding to fight the meanest S.O.B in a bar, then half way through the fight, “My bad, I made a mistake, I don’t want to fight anymore.” Anyone who takes this approach is sure to have their teeth kicked in.
The thing is al-Qaeda and our enemies know they can not beat us in battle. So, they take the fight to where they know they can beat us. They fight a propaganda war, and they are getting good at it. They create massive chaos, the media reports all the chaos, and people begin to lose support for the war. Congress tries to run the war policy, instead of letting the Soldiers do their job. While the President loses authority over the situation and the troops have their hands tied behind their backs. It is the Vietnam syndrome and just like Vietnam we are one Tet Offensive or one major terrorist attack away from completely pulling out of Iraq. By the way did you know the Tet Offensive was actually a military victory for U.S. Troops? The media was able to portray it differently though.
As for the members of Congress who voted for the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. I have a few words for you.
You have sent a message to our enemies that the U.S. is weak and does not have the will to continue the fight. You also send a clear message to our allies that America can not be trusted to stand with them ever again as they will reap the consequences of supporting us if we pull out. You have sent a message to all the members of our military that their lives and time are completely expendable and there sacrifice has been for nothing. I am sure many of the Soldiers who have spent a better of 3 out of the last 5 years in iraq are thrilled that they will never get those 3 years of their life back.
It is no surprise that mostly dumbocrats voted for this. They have always been the party to undermine the efforts of our Soldiers. They have been doing it since Vietnam, but I have a message for republicans who voted to withdrawal troops as well, you can start looking for new jobs. In seeking to secure your prized job as a Congressman, you have proven to be out of touch with the base of the party and are part of the reason the Republican Party is nothing more than a huge piece of elephant crap. The reason the party continues to lose approval, money and support is NOT because of the war! You stupid morons! It is because you have all been acting like the jack ass symbol of the Dumbocrat Party. It is because you keep reaching across the aisle to cooperate with dumbocrats on issues like the amnesty bill.
I completely assure you I am not alone in my disdain for the Republican Party.
Now, I know this withdrawal bill has very little chance of actually making it through the Senate and if somehow it does President Bush will vetoe it. I know this is a vote getting stunt for the dumbocrats, but here is the problem with that.
The tribal leaders of Iraq have been reluctant to cooperate with Americans for fear that we were not going to be able to provide proper security. Since the surge started showing progress they have recently began to take a stand against the insurgents and terrorists in Iraq, now that it looks like we may cut and run leaving them to defend there own they will probably now be thinking they are better off supporting the people that are killing our Soldiers.
This war will not and can not be won in the halls of Congress, but it damn sure can be lost their.
Congress should do their job by funding the war, then get the hell out of the way and let the Soldiers fight it.

al-Qaeda in Iran
Well here is something that was pretty damn obvious, the mullahs of Iran linked to al Queda. It seems Iran is being used as a base for terrorists. These terrorists then go into Iraq and kill Iraqis and Americans, with the intended goal of undermining progress in Iraq.
Intelligence sources say that al Qaeda is operating in Iran. No way…are .you kidding…I am shocked! I mean this wasn’t reported on any of Iran’s new government controlled TV news reports.
It seems al-Qaeda operatives are using Iran as a money and commo base. O.K. so it isn’t a training camp, but a terrorist organization must have money and good commo to fight a war.
So, Iran is harboring terrorists, providing weapons and Improvised Explosive Devices (those are road side bombs that blow up HUMVEES our troops ride around in) to insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan, Iran has announced they will wipe the UK, Israel and the U.S. off the face of the Earth on numerous occasions and they are getting closer to having nuclear bombs. Iran is already at war with us, why are we not at war with them?
So, what will we do about the threat of Iran? Probably, nothing until the cost of dealing with Iran will be as great as the cost of dealing with Hitler and Nazi Germany. It’s the same situation, different times folks. Read a history book folks the parallels are clear as day.
Oh hell, I got a better idea. How bout we sit around and worry about “Global Warming” instead. I mean more than 10,600 people have been killed at the hands of Islamic terrorism so far in 2007, “Global Warming” has killed 0. I definitely see the bigger problem for the human race, do you?

The continued appeasement of Islam
It is amazing the hypocrisy our government will take when it comes to religions. Christians are not allowed to openly pray in public schools, the Ten Commandments have been stripped off of virtually every government building imaginable. However, it seems the same separation of church and state standard doesn’t apply to Muslims.
If you were to walk into the FBI building in Omaha, Nebraska, there is a giant plaque on the wall from the Muslim Public Affairs Council and the American Muslim Association. Usually the plaque would be covered up by a Christmas tree around the holidays, but somehow I am willing to bet the ACLU is not going to allow that to happen this time around?
This plaque is commemorating the victims of September 11th. Now most of you are probably thinking, what is wrong with that? What do you have against a plaque commemorating the victims of 9-11? Well, here is why, I have done my homework and research and
found that this so called commemoration is nothing less than a PR scam. Here is why:
After 9-11 the Executive Director of Muslim Public Affairs Council, Al-Marayati went on the radio and suggested that Israel had the most to gain by the 9/11 attacks and should be considered the chief suspect.
The Communications Director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council was the managing editor of a publication applauding Osama bin Laden as a "great Mujahid," a "philanthropist" and a "freedom fighter."
Richard Gephart (a democrat), while the House minority leader, appointed Al-Marayati to head a National Commission on Terrorism. The appointment was finally rescinded after backlash saying that Al-Marayati has a "long record over many, many years of rationalizing and justifying terrorism."
Yeah, I know it is just a plaque, but can’t you see this for what it is folks. It is the continuous Islamic takeover of society. Today it is a plaque, tomorrow it is getting the local public school to not serve pork and allow Muslim prayer, until they reach the point of dominance in society. One must look no further than Europe to witness this, especially in places like the Netherlands.
The Dutch government used tax dollars to build mosques and madressas (Muslim Schools) among other things. The Dutch were so sure Muslims would assimilate into their culture. Instead they ended up with more than a million Muslims that opted for radical Islam. You know the type, like the ones that slaughtered film maker Theo Van Gogh in broad daylight.

Islamic takeover continues: Muslim Public School in NY
Slowly, but surly the Islamic take over continues. Arabic Public Schools are on their way to Brooklyn! The Khalil Gibran International Academy for Arabic and Islamic Culture is a leftwing, Arab/Islamic school, otherwise known as a madrassa, and it is being funded by your tax dollars.
Your taxpayer dollars are being used to create and fund a school specifically for students of one particular religion. I guess it's OK so long as that religion is Islam. Just try that with a Christian school and see how far you get…but I digress, for there are far bigger fish to fry with this one.
If you read this column by Daniel Pipes about this disguised "madrassa" you will find out the major principal of the school is Dhabah Almontaser. She calls herself a "multi-cultural educator." At a 2005 fundraiser for The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Almontaser received an award with Ghazi Khankan. During a rally Khankan shouted to the crowd "I bring you salaams and greetings from the Mujahideen of CAIR!" Now if you are a frequent reader of this blog you should know CAIR is an organization founded and at least somewhat staffed by people who are very open about their desire to see the United States under Islamic Law. Let me give you a refresher. Hamas founded CAIR. Yeah, the Islamic Terrorist Hamas. Yeppers, seems pretty multi-cultural to me.
Now, In case you didn’t know it, and you probably didn’t Almonstaser was a public school teacher when the 9/11 Islamic Terrorist attacks happened. When her students asked why Muslims and Arabs were behind the attacks she said that it was not really Arabs and Muslims who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks.
"I don't recognize the people who committed the attacks as either Arabs or Muslims," ...Those people who did it have stolen my identity as an Arab and have stolen my religion."
Fair enough ... but it doesn’t seem like her actions are with her words to me.
The American Arab Family Support Center (AAFSC) is the main organizer of the school. Their website used to read that they are trying to encourage and aid Arabs to use all kinds of taxpayer funded facilities and services to help them "reap the benefits of the American dream." Of course there is no evidence of that now.
Anyways, back to the madrassa. How would you like to take a class called "Hirabah-Not Jihad"? Here's a brief glance at your syllabus.
"The purpose of this activity is to acquaint students with the concept of jihad. The lesson discusses the distinction between jihad as a principle of social justice, and as a military institution entrusted to authorities in society. Students learn about the categories of illegitimate violence in society, namely rebellion and terrorism, brigandage and other forms of mayhem against the public. Students should be able to:
define jihad in its literal and applied meanings, as a principle and as an institution
describe legitimate conduct of war according to Islamic law
differentiate between rebellion, (baghy), and terrorism, (hirabah), according to Muslim jurists
explain how Muslim jurists characterize hirabah, and describe the basis for their judgment that it is a serious, punishable criminal act."
How delighted Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda must be to see this happening. New York City, the site of the worst Islamic terrorist attacks in our history and perhaps the history of the world, is bowing down to accommodate and perhaps groom future radicals. I suggest that New Yorkers and all Americans research Ms. Almonstaser’s hostile speeches and then do everything possible to put an end to this ill-conceived school.
The opening of this public madrassa makes about as much sense as it would have to open a German public school to explain the Third Reich during WWII. The idea would have been considered preposterous, yet this insane idea seems to have sneaked past us without any diligent investigation. Well, it didn’t sneak past this country boy. No… I saw smoke and looked for the fire.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says that politicians who are skeptical of the claims on man-made global warming are traitors and that skepticism toward global warming is treason. It must be nice to be a liberal and make up global threats while ignoring real ones. Hey RFK, more than 10,600 people died from Islamic terrorist attacks through out the world in the last 7 months, how many died from global warming?
Over 100 people are sick after visiting the "Taste of Chicago." I don’t need a taste of Chicago to make me ill, just the sight and smell of the “Windy City” does it for me.
Looks like more and more parents are home schooling their children. It is a remarkable success story as children who are home schooled continue to score higher on nationalized tests scores. I bet this makes the teachers unions highly unhappy. Maybe they can figure out a way to unionize parents?

Uh Oh! Hillary Clinton in trouble for illegal campaign contributions! This is a Felony folks!
It looks like Billary is in a little bit of trouble for illegal campaign contributions in her 2000 race for Senate. According to CNS News a videotape shows Clinton committing felonies and should be admitted as new evidence in a California civil case by Friday.
The tape shows Clinton -- currently the leading Democratic presidential contender -- speaking in 2000 with Peter Paul, a Hollywood mogul, and comic book icon Stan Lee about a massive fundraising event for her 2000 Senate race. Paul spent about $2 million of his own money to produce the event. The legal contribution limit to a candidate then was $2,000.
Hmmm…this little incident doesn't appear anywhere on HillaryHub! I wonder why that is?

When Neighbors Fight.
So, what do you do when the neighbors complain to the county commissioner about barking dogs to obstruct the building of a proposed dog kennel you want to put on your property? You do what any sensible neighbor would do. You go out and buy 4 mammoth donkeys and place them in the back yard right where you planned on putting that dog kennel in hopes that it annoys your neighbors more than barking dogs…Now that my friends is just a real pain in the ass.

Here is a column in the Wall Street Journal from Kimberly Hagan the democrats do not want you to read. Hagan just got back from Iraq, and she says the surge is working. In fact it is working so well she claims to say that the surge is failing is absurd. Instead Congress should be asking this question: Can the current progress continue? Good news continues to be ignored from Iraq.
Study shows teenagers have little interest in the news. Also seems 18- 30 year olds seem to care a whole lot more about celebrity news than issues in Congress or Iraq. Wow!!! They needed a study for this? I could have saved somebody a whole lot of time on this one.
A woman in Federal Way, Washington registered her dog to vote in protest of election registration laws that make it to easy for non citizens to vote. Well, the dog has voted in two elections. She is in a little bit of trouble now though.
There is about to be a showdown over “global warming” in Congress…Now that should produce some hot air.

MTCW Idiot of the week.
Country Boy brings you a new category. Every Monday he will present the MTCW Idiot of the week. Feel free to submit nominations.
This week’s winner goes to Dan Schreiber from Champaign, Illinois. Schreiber writes this absurd comment in a letter to the Editor of the Champaign News Gazette: "Soldiers are certainly entitled to their opinions. But their personal experiences are no substitute for informed analysis. What is needed in soldiers and citizens alike is the ability to differentiate news from propaganda and data from spin."
Now, I have posted the whole letter below so no one can accuse me for taking the contents out of contex. This is from the Monday, July 2, News Gazette:
John Foreman makes a curious argument for a newspaper publisher "that critics of the Iraq war are 'perhaps' naive," because they form their opinions from news instead of from individual soldiers on the ground.
And yet many of the opinions he shares from soldiers are simply Republican talking points. For instance, one soldier believes Iraq is the central front in the war on terror, which is just a way to spin the fact that terrorists followed us in after our invasion.
Another soldier believes Iran is the primary cause of terrorism in Iraq. This is no more true than believing Saddam was responsible for 9/11 or that he was an imminent threat to drop nuclear bombs on the United States, which many soldiers also believed.
Soldiers are certainly entitled to their opinions. But their personal experiences are no substitute for informed analysis. What is needed in soldiers and citizens alike is the ability to differentiate news from propaganda and data from spin.
After all, if naive war critics had been listened to in the first place, we wouldn't be in the mess we are now in.
Informed analysis? Who to make a better informed annalysis than Soldiers who deal with the situation everyday? If what Soldiers are saying end up being republican talking points then what does that say about the democrat party?
I wonder if Mr Schreiber gets his informed analysis about his health from Doctors? or what about legal analysis? probably from a lawyer...wouldn't you think. I mean surely Doctors and lawyers are entitled to their opinions on such matters but their personal expieriences are no substitute for informed analysis by journalist and news media...riiiiight.
Dan Schreiber, you are the MTCW Idiot of the week.
One last note, If politicians and naive war critics would have listened to military leaders in the first place when they asked for more troops and would have let the Soldiers fight the war instead of doing everything to obstruct their efforts, the situation in Iraq would probably be a lot better off now.

Colin Bruley should have been honored for courage, instead he was fired!
Meet real genuine hero Colin Bruley. Bruley is 24 years old and worked and lived as a leasing agent at an apartment complex in Jacksonville, FL. When Bruley was faced with a decision requiring immediate action that most people will never have to face in their lifetime, he acted. His heroic actions saved a young woman’s life.
At approximately 2 a.m. Bruley was awakened by screams from a neighbor that said she had been shot. So, not knowing the current situation, whether the shooter was still there or if he may come out of an apartment door at any moment, Burley grabbed his shotgun and went outside to help the woman.
Arriving on the scene Bruley found Tonetta Lee covered in blood and bleeding heavily from her right leg. Bruley hands the shotgun to a neighbor and begins administering first aid. He tied a tourniquet to her leg and then waiting for the police and ambulance to show up.
What a great story and act of heroic measures, why I bet Colin Bruley was honored for his actions to save this woman’s life…not so much…
The Oaks at Mill Creek apartment complex calls him in to find out what happened. A few hours later, they call him back in…to deliver this message:
You’re fired!!! That’s right, no thank you, no praise, no recognition of bravery, none of that.
According to the owner of the apartments, the Village Green Companies, “Colin demonstrated extremely poor judgment in responding to this situation.” It seems he also violated the rules in the employee handbook. Oh my, that must be one hell of a handbook to deal with situations like this. What part did he violate? Well, the know weapons in the workplace part of course.
Colin Bruley acted courageously and saved a woman’s life. He should have been given a medal and a parade, but instead he is given the boot.
Now, let’s take a look at what very likely would have happened had Colin Bruley not acted and just stayed in his room minding his own business.
Depending on how bad the wound was, a wound needing a tourniquet can cause you to lose massive amounts of blood in a short period of time unless a tourniquet is applied. The young woman would have no doubt bled to death before the police or ambulance would have showed up, but Colin Bruley would still have a job.
A lot of people would suggest that Colin Bruley shouldn’t have had the Shotgun since it was in the handbook. Others will say he shouldn’t have acted at all and just minded his own business; after all, this is a police matter. Bruley took the law into his own hands. This mindset is showing up more frequently throughout society. Thank God for Tonetta Lee’s sake that Colin Bruley thought differently.
Colin Bruley, you can be my neighbor any day…oh and bring your shotgun.

They Care...isn't that lovely.
The Village Green company is the company that owns the Oaks at Mills Creek apartment complex where Colin Bruley use to work.
Well on their website, nice cozy website by the way, they have a little motto that says: We Care.
Awww...isn't that so nice of them. They care folks... It seems the President of the Company also released a press release about the Colin Bruley firing. You can read the whole thing here.
There are a couple areas I want to focus on this part of the release:
When he (Bruley) left his apartment armed, he had no indication a gun was in play at the scene. He did not follow procedures and contact 911 at any time that night.
O.K. did Colin Bruley make a mistake by not dialing 911 before leaving his apartment? Yes, but once he arrives to a heavily bleeding victim what is he to do? Run back and dial 911 and take the chance that she bleeds to death, or apply life saving first aid? How do we know he had no indication of a gun being in play? Obviously, something was in play, we have a female victim bleeding bad enough to need a tourniquet...There is no doubt mistakes where probably made. Look folks, this is a situation most will never have to face, and if we did have to face it, we would more than likely make kistakes as well.
When he left his apartment armed, he had no indication a gun was in play at the scene. He did not follow procedures and contact 911 at any time that night.
We do not condone residents or associates jeopardizing their safety or the safety of others by intervening in police matters. Our policy does not permit weapons of any kind at the workplace for the safety of all.
Yeppers, you don't want to ever interfere in a police matter. No matter what situation you are in you should just always wait for the police to show up and take care of it. I don't know about where you live, but you ever notice the police show up well after the fact?
I bet the residents just feel so safe, with none of the workers allowed to own a firearm. I wonder if the residents are allowed to own a firearm. I doubt it; in fact I am willing to bet that it is a gun free zone just like Virginia Tech was.
We care, but we don't care enough to allow our customers adequate protection. I mean that is a police matter.
I wonder what Tonetta Lee thinks about their "We Care" motto. There is a good chance she would have bled to death without the tourniquet applied by Bruley.

Speaking of fealing safer,
Cecilia Beaman is a 57-year-old grandmother, a principal at Pacific Middle School in Des Moines, and as of Sunday is also a suspected terrorist...
Yeppers, that is right. The TSA found her lost bread knife in her carry on.
Beaman, who was on a field trip with 37 students, had three bread knives to make sandwiches for the children and was careful to pack the knives she used to prepare those sandwiches in her checked luggage. She says she even alerted security screeners that the knives were in her checked bags and they told her that was OK.
But Beaman says she couldn't find a third knife. It was a 5 1/2 inch bread knife with a rounded tip and a serrated edge. She thought she might have lost or misplaced it during the trip.
Well, the TSA found her third knife. Deep in the outside pocket of a carry-on cooler.
She was charged with a felony, a $500 fine, and her name put on a terrorist watch list.
Thank God they stopped this insane woman before she did some real damage! I feel safer already and will be sleeping better tonight because of it...
What ever happened to the common sense factor in this country????

Billary Clinton on Thompson Attack.
Billary Clinton is on the attack of Fred Thompson. Apparently, Fred Thompson was talking about illegal immigration and made a comment about Cuban’s coming to the U.S. with suitcase bombs. It is possible; Fidel Castro did refer to the United States as their biggest enemy recently.
"I was appalled when one of the people running for or about to run for the Republican nomination talked about Cuban refugees as potential terrorists," Clinton told Hispanic elected officials. "Apparently he doesn't have a lot of experience in Florida or anywhere else, and doesn't know a lot of Cuban-Americans."
Whoah…what experience does she have with Cuban-Americans in Florida? I wonder where Billary’s outrage was when her husband’s administration sent in an INS Swat Team with sub machine guns to seize little Elian Gonzalez and return him to the totalitarian regime of Cuba.
Ever wonder what happened to Elian Gonzalez? Click here.

"Hilary Care" for the Kids! Aren't you excited!
Bilary Clinton wants to expand her “Hilary Care” to America’s poor children. Free health care for all the poor children. Kind of gives you a happy feeling inside doesn’t it?
So who qualifies for “Hilary Care” as a "poor kid"?
71% of all American children in families of four making up to about $80,000 a year would classify as "poor." That's 400% above the poverty level. Wow ... must be nice to be a poor American in Hillary's world! Until you realize the quality of free health care is just what you pay for. A system funded by taxpayers with no market competition, yeah that should work, just about as well as the government education system…. I wonder if they will call it public health care as well. You know to get that nasty government word out of the equation.
This is Hillary's "step by step" approach, to expanding “Hilary Care.” One "poor" child at a time, the government will become the great "provider."
This goes back to the question I asked on the Fourth of July. Do you want freedom or security? Health care is your responsibility, not the governments. Who in their right mind is willing to hand over their freedom to take care of their own health to the federal government? I know I am not.
The government has no business deciding where I will be medically treated, and by whom. I have the right to make that decision. You have the right to make that decision. Enjoy it while you can though, cause if liberals ever get their way, in the future you will have public health care districts. It will be just like the public school districts. Oh, won’t that be great. I can hardly wait for that.

Country Boy's suggested reading and views from around the web.
Dick Morris says that pulling the troops out of Iraq might "save the republicans in 2008." Is this about saving the Republican Party or protecting this nation from Islamic terrorism? Just wondering… cause like John McCain I would rather lose in 08 then lose to terrorists. I wonder if McCain will stand strong on that position.
Canada has a National Health Care system. Remember in 1994 when Hilary was saying we should create ours off their model? Well it is a two to three year wait for a hip replacement in Canada now days. Oh yeah, I am so excited for “Hilary Care” .... and it's the United States that's "Sicko."
National Review Online editor, Rich Lowry, calls the defeat of the amnesty bill a "techno-populist victory." In other words it was you, the American people that defeated it. Imagine that! Grass roots efforts work, now if we could just do the same thing with the FairTax.
Anyone care to read what the Mexican president thinks of the failure of the amnesty bill? Yeah, I don’t care either, but with over one tenth of his countries citizens residing in the United States, I guess he thinks he has some claim in this debate. Wow, it is like his own little country with in a country.
Republican candidate Mitt Romney wants to increase our military by 100,000. He says he wants to speak softly and "carry a big stick" like Teddy Roosevelt. No word on how he plans to get 100,000 more troops though.

Columnist Charles Krauthammer has a column on Diane Feinstein’s take on government regulation of the auto industry, "What the China situation ... shows is that these automakers ... build the automobile that the requirements for mileage state. And they don't fight it, they just do it." Uh, yeah Diane, that is what they do in Communist dictatorships.
A radio talk show host says he was fired after one day for being "moderate." Now that is not the right answer. It actually has little to do with ideology; you were fired because the people (and advertisers) didn't like you. It is called a free market system. Same reason Air America can't get on the air waves. Nobody wants to listen to them.

Independence Day.
Well, once again it is the 4th of July. Independence Day...isn't that great!!! Most of you may be shocked to know this is not one of my favorite holidays. In fact, it is one of my least. Thanksgiving is actually my favorite holiday. We haven't been able to mess that one up yet.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I like the fact that it is a summertime holiday, and that it is a summertime party filled with beer and explosives....ha...how can you beat that...beer and explosives! I also like what it stands for which is the signing of the Decleration of Independence, which may be the best written docuement of all time. So, we celebrate the day; Independence Day.
Independence from what though??? Oh Britian you say... OK that is true, but we have since lost much if not all of our independence that was handed to us since then to our own government.
Many of you may be surprised to know that we actually have less independence and freedom today in America then what we did when we deciced to fight the British.
Americans love to say how they love freedom and independence, but it is not true. Americans, as a whole, no longer have any real love of freedom. It has been proven over and over again. Americans want security not freedom.
Oh sure ... we Americans want to be free to chose where we work , where we live, where we worship and what movie we are going to go see, but no one wants the personal responsibility to take care of ourselves and live with the consequences of our choices. We have government for that.
All too many of us our way to happy to let the government step in and relieve us of the responsibilities and consequences of choice.
We shouldn't have to decide our own salary, let the government decide what we should make with minimum wage. We don't want the freedom to choose our destiny and plan our own retirement, let the government do that with Social Security. Health care...It shouldn't be our responsibility, the government should take care of all of it...but I digress.
This is all I post on the blog today... I know none of you want to read this today...So just go out and have a great day, have a party and watch some fire works. If the oppurtunity arises maybe think about and ask yourself is it Independence and Freedom I am celebrating today or am I in the majority that celebrates Security.
Leave you with a couple Country Boy's suggested reading about what this great day is suppose to be about....
Go buy the book "1776" and read it. You will read about how the patriots where in the minority. That is right, those who wanted freedom from Britian where a minority in the colonies. At not one point during the Revolution War did the majority of the colonies want Independence. So, if you want security over Freedom don't feel bad you have always been in the majority.
You will also read about American patriots, who in 1776 marched across frozen ground without shoes --- leaving a trail of blood --- just to fight for independence from Great Britain. Do such men that would make that kind of sacrafice fall in our ranks today? You bet they are serving in Iraq and Afghnistan, unfortunately they make up about 1% of the American population.
Here is an awsome essay about the signing and signers of the Decleration of Independence. Read this one and then ask yourself; are you worthy of the sacrafice that these men made for us to live in the greatest nation ever handed over to man?

Rockford Rascal suggest a correction, not sure what to correct? Maybe you can make sense of this...
It seems that another blogger, The Rockford Rascal, didn’t like one of the country boy’s suggested reading posts on global warming and wants me to run a correction on my blog. However, I am not sure what to correct???Maybe one of you can make sense of this…
Let me first send thanks to The Rockford Rascal for the plug to my blog, greatly appreciated.
Anyways, here is what I posted in the suggested reading on Tuesday:
It looks like this whole "Global Warming" pitch is not working out for Al Gore and his followers. A new poll says almost 3 out of 4 people believe Global Warming is caused naturally and not by man. Gotta love the bias in this article though...
Now here is some of what the Rockford Rascal wrote in his post titled Global Warming skeptics get suckered:

Now here is some of what the Rockford Rascal wrote in his post titled Global Warming skeptics get suckered:
A guy named Kevin Tracy was one of them. A guy named Fritz Hereid was another. A guy named Tony Spain happily interpreted the poll results as applying to people in general, not just the Brits. But wait! There's...uh...one little problem. That survey of 4,000 people was conducted online. That means the respondents were self-selected. And that means the poll was worthless. You see, any poll that isn't conducted by time-tested scientific methods is ipso facto pure crapola, if you know what I mean. By the way, Kevin and Fritz and Tony might want to post corrections on their blogs. The Rascal will check back after a while to see if they've done so.
So…I am confused…what am I suppose to correct, the fact that it was just British people polled? Where in the article does it state that it is a British poll? It doesn’t…
In fact the lead to the story reads: ALMOST three quarters of people believe global warming is a 'natural occurrence' and not a result of carbon emissions, a survey claimed today.
Nowhere does it say it was just British people polled. In fact the Rascal later even admits that it isn’t clear in the article if it was only British polled.
That other poll, the crappy one, apparently covers just British folks (although the story isn't really clear on that point).
The Rascal also claims the poll was worthless and unscientific because it was conducted online. Maybe so, I don’t know, I didn’t conduct the poll. The article just states it was an online poll. I never claimed the poll to be scientific either.
However, for such an “unscientific poll” why all the fuss in the article:
This goes against the views of the vast majority of scientists who believe the rise in the earth's temperatures is due to pollution.
Emma Hardcastle, publisher at Pocket Issue which carried out the research, said: "If 71% of people feel that Man has nothing to do with the recent change in our climate then those same people are not going to buy into any movement to reduce their carbon footprint.”"We need to make it clear that there is nothing natural about the significant rise in both carbon emissions and global temperatures since the industrial revolution. "Pocket Issue’s brief is to help people to understand the facts, encouraging them to click through to a carbon counter as a result."Pocket Issue feel that the poll highlights the need for government and influential bodies to concentrate on getting the public to understand the facts about global warming and ‘why’ rather than ‘how’ they should reduce their carbon footprint."The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which represents most scientists, stated earlier that the increase in global temperatures is 'very likely due to the observed increase of man-made greenhouse gas concentrations'. They define very likely as 'more than 90 percent certain'.
Isn’t it interesting that the vast majority of scientists that are funded by government tend to find research to support “man made” global warming, while the vast majority who work independently find research that says otherwise. We will never know the actual truth about “Global Warming” until we get the politics out of it…but I digress….
If it was such a worthless poll, then why all the fuss? Oh, and isn’t it interesting that Pocket Issue, who are promoting a movement to reduce carbon footprints carried out the research…
So, if the poll is worthless and unreliable, then maybe the real suckers are the publishers of Pocket Issue.
