Bush Sets Iraqi Timeline: Iraqi troops To Take Over Most Of Iraq By End Of The Year.

For at least 2 years now the Bush administration has told us that setting a timeline for the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq would be a disastrous mistake. If we set a timeline the terrorists would simply just wait us out. But now it would seem that we have some sort of a timeline of when those troops are coming home.

In a speech a couple of days ago, the president vowed to turn over most of Iraq to Iraqi troops by the end of the year. So what happens now? There are only 9 months left in the year. Will the Iraqi police and soldiers be ready by then? Well, with the progress that we are seeing of late it would certainly not be out of the question. At some point we are just going to have to let the Iraqis fight their own battles and find out. We can't spend the rest of the century holding their hands and fighting for their countries liberation. So by 2007, we will have tossed them the keys and told them to make a go of it.

It's going to be a rough road ahead for the Iraq, especially with the left in this country and around the world, along with the mainstream media rooting for them to fail. Something tells me they will come out all right.
